Job Purpose:
This role has responsibility for driving a major Release of the Accelerate Programme focusing on owning & delivering against a detail complex plan that will build new IT capability for our consumer and fixed base.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building strong cross functional partnerships with internal resources, contractors, managed services and 3rd party suppliers – leveraging those relationships to successfully plan and deliver, on time, a key strategic element of the Accelerate programme.
This, high profile, position, reporting directly to the Head of Programme Delivery – Accelerate, will partner and work with senior stakeholders across the business, and the successful candidate will be expected to be comfortable in communicating at this level to ensure the Transformation agenda is a top priority across the wider organisation
Key Accountabilities:
- Coordinate and lead multiple workstreams such as IT delivery (eg BSS/ OCS), Integration, dual running, customer migration, end to end test, business readiness, infrastructure, channels, BI& Data
- Drive change across the entire Accelerate and wider VMO2 organisation through the Transformation journey ensuring buy in and collaboration from the other Directorates such as Sales, Service, Marketing, Operations, Finance and HR
- Responsibility for a matrix organisation and broad set of workstreams consisting of internal and external teams
- Close working with key suppliers and partners to ensure that the programme acts as one team and delivers the overall outcomes.
- Ensuring alignment with the wider Operating Model work and Process Excellence & Simplification programme, along with other critical programmes across the business
- Responsibility for ensuring Financial forecasting accuracy for the Release
- Effective RAID management for the Release, ensuring key risks are closed down, before they are escalated, and ensuring dependencies are known and understood for the Release
The must haves:
- Significant transformation leadership experience demonstrating success in defining and driving change programmes in large organisations
- Strong technical experience of large scale technology programmes but can regular ensure that they are ‘business led’
- Understanding of ‘out of the box’ product solutions and how to ensure these deliver the business and customer needs
- Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and to work under pressure with different teams (and multiple suppliers/ partners).
- Able to both lead strategic thinking and drive on-time and budget delivery of large-scale complex programmes
- Dynamic and customer-centric with the ability to flourish in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
- Operates with gravitas and credibility at an executive level
- Is an excellent communicator (and listener) at all levels - able to translate complexity into straightforward and simple language
