Senior Programmatic Manager

The Senior Programmatic Manager will take responsibility for the set-up, development and delivery of the programmatic capability within MediaLab (our media investment team). Responsible for setting the strategy and leading the execution for ASOS’ programmatic function, this is a highly strategic role that is accountable for what will be a significant component of our media investment going forward. As we make our first in-house strides into this channel, this is a unique opportunity for someone looking to leave a footprint in the evolution of ASOS media buying strategy.

This role reports into the Head of Media Investment, and oversees a small and highly specialised team of programmatic campaign experts and will set up the structure for enabling ASOS to run high impact creative at scale across the full marketing funnel.

This is a critical role to the execution of the ASOS media investment strategy. Through strategic thinking and the team working under their direction, the role is empowered to deliver timely, and comprehensive media planning and buying solutions to address our business challenges.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data management and audience targeting
    • Own and lead a data driven audience targeting strategy across the programmatic stack
    • Lead the vision for how (and which) external data suppliers can enhance our activity to deliver on our targets
    • Ability to forecast on available inventory, inventory quality, inventory outputs and construct a well balanced media plan
    • Manage a team who will translate business needs and campaign briefs to a media strategy/media plan in programmatic
    • Work alongside the other paid media functions as an integral part of the media stack
       
  • Infrastructure
    • Ensuring our programmatic infrastructure is future-proofed and that our platforms and capabilities are adaptable to a fast moving channel mix and media buying strategy
    • Build out audience profiles and relationships directly with publishers where relevant
    • Collaborate with the creative team to develop an automated solution for creative delivery specific to programmatic
       
  • Measurement
    • Ensure appropriate tracking solutions are in place to enable different cuts of reporting views (last click vs post view for example)
    • Develop and iterate weekly reporting structures to facilitate the flow of critical information on campaign performance across key ASOS stakeholders
    • Work closely with our Data Science and Insights teams to develop a comprehensive test roadmap for the programmatic channel and appropriate measurement and audience split protocols


       
  • Procurement
    • Identify, and lead on all new programmatic technology procurement. Working cross-functionally to match business requirements with technology partners, from ideation to partner selection and deployment

       

We’d love to meet someone who…

  • Has significant experience managing programmatic display & video campaigns to profitably grow successful online consumer businesses
  • Possesses clear domain expertise in the Programmatic space, having directly managed high-budget, multinational accounts, preferably in the retail sector.
  • Is highly proficient in DV360
  • Has managed a team in a company-led marketing operation or as an agency ‘doer’, not just managed external agencies at an advertiser.
  • Is highly detail-oriented
  • Is highly numerate, proficient at Excel, and demonstrates strong analytical capabilities. 2.1 degree or above in a related field (mathematics, economics, science, engineering) preferred.
