Responsibilities

As part of the MSIX team you will help in growing the platform for building and deploying apps. You will get to work with partners across various parts of the company including Office, Edge, and Visual Studio. As an evolving team we build for the Windows OS while embracing an open by default philosophy that has led to several open-source projects that include an SDK for iOS, Android, Mac, and Linux. We spend a significant amount of time obsessing over customer needs, listening to what can move the needle for their business and engaging in a close and meaningful way to help them realize opportunities. With a focus on working directly with enterprise communities through customer engagement programs and participating in Microsoft events like Build and Ignite. We are looking for someone who embodies the philosophy that customer success is Microsoft success.

Responsibility:

• Define Product roadmap, features and functional specifications, collaborating across multiple partner teams.
• Drive definition of requirements, dependencies, work breakdowns, implementation plans and software integration planning across all disciplines.
• Engage with enterprise customers to get feedback on the product features. Understand and triage customer issues.
• Manage community engagement on the open-source parts of the product.
• Conceptualize unique and delightful experiences for customers.
• Define and own key business metrics for the product.
• Keep pace with industry trends to understand the application packaging space and its best practices.
• Anticipate risks; assess, mitigate, and manage accordingly.
• Organize and present program reviews/status to engineering, business, and senior management.
• Closely partners with software engineering teams to land key product capabilities.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in program management or other engineering discipline defining, driving, and shipping products through multiple ship cycles.
• Held responsibility for the creation of functional specifications, project schedules and building plans to deliver.
• Enthusiastic, attention to detail, results-oriented, organized, motivated and self-driven.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Strategic leadership and analytical skills.
• Critical thinking, problem solving and questioning skills.
• Track record of accomplishing results in a matrix environment, working collaboratively across boundaries and influencing other teams.
• High degree of flexibility - willing to fill in the gaps rather than relying on others.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required. A master’s degree is a plus.

Additional Qualifications desired:

• Experience working with open-source community is a plus
• Developed or shipped an app in an app store (Microsoft Store, Google Play, or Apple App Store)
• Experience with enterprise app deployment and IT Pros
