The EMEA Strategic Programs Team (SPT) is part of the EMEA Segments and Acceleration Programs Team (ESAP). The SPT is made up of several different program teams/expertise that cover, Acceleration Programs, Customer Programs, Cloud Economics, Cloud Intelligence, Specialist Sales, & governance. They focus on the strategic customers across EMEA, develop scalable programs and capabilities, and run pilots to sustain success with continuous improvement always being on the forefront of their minds. The programs evolve dynamically based on the needs of our customers during their different stages of adopting cloud into their business.
Description
As a Senior Program Manager on the Acceleration Programs team, you will focus on shaping and delivering programs to support the work of the EMEA Startup Business Development team. You will play a central role in delivering parts of the global strategy but also be given the chance to incubate new EMEA born programs and influence Global Startup segment priorities. On a daily basis you will primarily work with the EMEA Startup Business development (SBD) team at all levels to create scalable programs and mechanisms that drive customer adoption, align with EMEA SBD team goals and meet all AWS’ Startup customer needs.
About Startup Business Development
The aim of the AWS Startup Business Development team is to help startups grow and succeed. Leveraging programs, people and AWS services, they work directly with startup Founders, investors, accelerators and incubators and others in the startup ecosystem across EMEA. The startup segment is vast and startup customers are highly varied. As such, the SBD team relies upon scalable programs and initiatives that can extend their reach and support as many startups as possible.
The Role of Snr Program Manager, EMEA Startup BD
You will have to identify and eliminate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs. Your role will be to find the right balance between business needs versus constraints. You should thrive in fast-paced environments, be able to manage ambiguity and complexity, and invent and simplify processes. Maturity, strong judgment, and the ability to influence are all essential in this role. The right candidate will have strong analytical skills, be a very effective written and oral communicator and have strong stakeholder engagement and program management skills.
Role & Responsibilities
· Work together with the EMEA Startup BD team in proposing, designing and executing scalable programs across customers’ cloud adoption life-cycle in collaboration with the cross-functional stakeholder teams across the Startup segment organisation.
· Special focus to provide support in building and managing high-touch programs which will influence potentially thousands of customers; enabling AWS to engage with the long tail market without engaging specialist resources in one to one engagements
· Work closely with EMEA and Global Startup Business development leadership teams to identify priority areas for program incubation and iteration.
· Once approved, help deploy – pilot and scale – growth programs in the field working with enablement, regional business development teams, and account teams.
· Manage growth programs, assess performance, pivot and evolve programs based on observed data to improve programs efficacy and performance.
· Build qualification, governance model and reporting mechanisms for insights into the business performance and associated growth programs.
· Qualification in Economics, Business or related field
· At least 8 years of relevant work experience in the enterprise/verticals sector in program management, business development, solutions.
· Strong project/program management skills with ability to develop programs from conception to launch and to streamline existing processes
· Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, managing and executing cross-functional growth go-to-market programs and sales motion.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Directly relevant work experience in the Startup ecosystem, ideally experience working at a Startup.
· Relevant technical knowledge is helpful, such as: fundamentals of cloud computing and virtualization, storage systems, software defined networking, network functions virtualization, etc. with ability to go deep enough on relevant technologies key to the industry.
· Understanding of the AWS services and their relevance to the enterprise and industry workload.
