Job Description

The Azure High-Performance Computing (HPC) software team is responsible for the overall experience of running HPC + AI workloads in Azure, from batch workloads to artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to traditional HPC simulations to remote visualization. We are on a mission to deliver the future of HPC + AI by making HPC “better”, i.e., simpler, faster, and more powerful, and enabling organizations to transform their most challenging and valuable workloads. 

 

We do this through three primary offerings: Azure Batch, Azure CycleCloud, and Microsoft HPC Pack, and through close collaboration with the Azure HPC hardware team, other teams within Microsoft, and the broader HPC + AI ecosystem. This is an exciting time for HPC + AI, as they are undergoing a massive shift. AI technologies are being merged with existing HPC approaches, and both are moving to the cloud!  

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced PM/TPM to join our to help us deliver the next generation of our HPC software products. You’ll be responsible for driving best-in-Cloud integration with some of our users’ preferred tools, including HPC job schedulers and workflow tools. You’ll also develop new product features and will work across teams, partners, and customers to enable a delightful experience running key workloads across our HPC product portfolio. A working knowledge of HPC applications and tooling, and large-scale computing experience is required.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:  

  • 4+ years in product management or technical program management 
  • 2+ years of experience with HPC, AI, or analytics workloads or with distributed systems such as Kubernetes. 
  • 2+ years of experience with Cloud computing, containerized workflows, or other virtualized computing environments and technologies. 
  • Proven ability to influence across teams and organizations.  
  • Experience in building business cases to advocate for customer and partner success 

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Experience with HPC job schedulers or workflow tools such as Slurm, LSF, Dask, Airflow, Nextflow, or others.  
  • Deep HPC | AI | technical computing expertise. 
  • Experience in defining and/or shipping APIs and API-driven solutions. 
  • Practical knowledge of Linux 
  • Experience deploying and running AI frameworks such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, etc 
  • Customer and quality obsession 

 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:  

  

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
