The WW Event Sponsorships team is looking for an experienced and independent Senior Program Manager, Gaming Event Sponsorships to drive flawless execution of high-profile gaming/esports event types.
The successful candidate will partner closely with cross functional partners to be part of a new and growing event sponsorship business and own programs from end to end. A self-starter that thrives in ambiguity, with the ability to influence multi-functionally and the willingness to roll up sleeves to operate in a dynamic environment.
A day in the life
In this role, you’ll need to factor in two high-level areas of responsibility. The first involves leading a cross-functional project team defining, planning and executing a new pan-EU esports event type. You will be working with cross-functional teams within Retail, Twitch and Amazon Advertising.
The second area involves working at a strategic level with WW Event Sponsorships leadership and a senior cross-functional working group to define a shared gaming/esports events sponsorship vision and associated strategy to meet ambitious growth targets. This strategy will be linked to the implementation and continuous improvement of a gaming/esports events go-to-market framework to drive growth and scale.
The ideal candidate will have ownership and influencing skills. You will thrive in fast paced dynamic environments and have excellent communication and presentation skills. This role requires someone who is flexible, detail-oriented, passionate about the customer and comfortable working with numerous stakeholders across the organization and worldwide in an environment that has a considerable amount of ambiguity. Experience working in a strategic cross-functional capacity as well as a proven track record of delivering operational excellence are important qualifications.
About the hiring group
The WW Sponsorships organization's mission is to enhance the Amazon customer experience by enabling delivery of new content/experiences and raising the visibility of relevant content or deals across Amazon properties. Within this organization the WW Events Sponsorship team focuses on working within a nascent and high potential gaming entertainment category to deliver top quality gaming/esports events in the EU initially.
· Do you have consolidated/demonstrable experience in program or project management
· Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
· Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
· Form and manage a cross-functional project/program team (EU Retail, Advertising and Twitch) responsible for defining, planning, organising, managing and executing flawless EU Gaming/Esports events, starting with the EU Masters event.
· Work cross-functionally to manage bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints, and maximise business benefit while building great customer experiences.
· Track and report on country performance to senior cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring each locale is delivering differentiated value against its intended objective
· Leverage customer and external/internal partner feedback to drive continuous program improvement, including optimising existing cross-functional processes to improve efficiencies and SLAs
· Work with the Head of WW Gaming/Esports Event Sponsorships and senior cross-functional POCs to define, test and iterate the gaming/esports event sponsorships strategy and go-to-market framework.
· Present confidently to Amazon senior management as well as other large audiences.
· Work at all levels in the organisation, with no job being considered too large or small
· Experience of working within advertising and/or the gaming entertainment category is a genuine plus
· Proven ability to influence without authority and support/represent cross-functional teams across levels, geographies, and cultures
· Excellent communication skills, paired with sound business judgment and ability to see around corners
· Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, deadline-oriented work environment
