Job Summary:

The Sr. Product Manager, CMS, will execute on the strategic direction for a proprietary content management system (CMS) used globally for 100+ sites within CEP’s Entertainment portfolio. This person will be the CMS product owner, responsible for oversight and development of not just the CMS itself, but also the asset and metadata management tools that work together to serve content to Disney sites worldwide. This person will collaborate with front- and back-end engineering teams to prioritize feature development that aligns with high-level business goals and improves key traffic metrics, particularly those related to optimizing conversion funnels to Disney’s direct-to-consumer offerings.

The Sr. Product Manager will work closely with both engineering and CMS stakeholders. They will groom user stories that address CEP’s business goals for growth and innovation. They will maintain a healthy backlog of prioritized work, providing updates and demos to CMS users and leadership. They will be the main product contact for all content migrations, as new customers and sites are onboarded to the platform. They will iterate on and improve CMS features and functionality, making data-informed decisions that keep product development moving forward.

Additionally, this person will manage CMS product operations personnel as they onboard clients from across the globe. They will develop documentation and assist with training editors and web site producers. As a lead on the product team, the Senior Technical Product Manager will help to mentor and develop junior team members. This role will demand flexibility and responsiveness to changing strategies and business needs, driven by industry changes outside of and within The Walt Disney Company. This role will also partner with various team leads across DMED including engineering, design/ux, content, and operations to ensure our products are operationally scalable.

A successful candidate will be highly analytical, strategic, able to work extremely effectively in a matrix organization, and adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into high-quality, simple tools that users love. The role will require a candidate who is skilled at written and verbal communication, who is comfortable presenting decks and demos, and who has a strong understanding of technology platforms and how data flows between applications.

Responsibilities:

• Develop tactical product plans, from concept through launch, to deliver against business KPIs across multiple product focus areas.

• Collaborate with internal technology, design/UX, operations and production teams to define, design and deliver user-friendly, accessible and privacy compliant tools.

• Update, disseminate and provide on-going awareness of product roadmaps, especially through presentation decks and status reports.

• Actively engage with editors and content producers to ensure the product team has provided clear documentation and training to operationalize new features.

• Experiment, iterate and innovate using data-driven decisions

Required Education

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience or related field
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Experience in product management of mobile/web applications, ecommerce experiences, digital activities or games
  • Strong understanding of digital media content and asset management systems
  • Expertise in JIRA and other product management tools such as Confluence and Smartsheets to keep up-to-date accounts of work and decisions made
  • Experience collaborating with engineers on technical requirements
  • Outstanding creativity, curiosity, and drive; a self-starter
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Outstanding visual presentation skills and ability to articulate business value and impact to executive leadership
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations, driving clarity and focus, setting priorities, and converting ideas into action
  • Excellent communicator who can tailor messages for various stakeholders to gain buy-in and drive important initiatives

This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely. A remote opportunity may be possible for qualified candidates under certain circumstances and, if granted, the employee would work remotely on an ongoing basis.
