Job Summary:

Disney Parks, Experiences and Products (DPEP) Technology & Digital (T&D) is looking for an experienced product manager/business system analyst to support the shared portfolio of financial applications used by Disney Publishing Worldwide. This is a critical function that touches all areas of Publishing, working especially closely with the shared accounting, financial and operations teams.

Background:

The Senior Product Manager role is responsible for identifying and documenting publishing’s business requirements to ensure the current and future suite of publishing applications continue to deliver business value. Critical to the role’s success will be an understanding of how various aspects of new publishing business models impact the requirements for data reporting.

Role Description:

As a Senior Product Manager, your primary role is to solve issues that create barriers preventing operational efficiency for the accounting and finance teams that support Disney Publishing Worldwide.

You will identify business requirements, document processes and data workflows, work with the relevant teams – including the vendor -- to identify and prioritize solutions, partner with the delivery resource to deploy changes, and perform user testing for Publishing’s implementation of Real Software Systems’ Alliant system for royalties payable.

You will become subject matter expert on DPEP Accounting / Controllership / Finance functions for Publishing in order to drive business value.

You will participate in the demand management process for Publishing’s other vertical financial applications (BookSalesUploader, CBG2010, Cognos TM1) to identify, define and prioritize project requests.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and document the business processes and functions that drive information requirements, especially royalty payables and financial reporting
  • Work with finance, accounting, contract management and operations teams to analyze business issues and data challenges and recommend information solutions to streamline work flows
  • Comprehend the methodologies and technologies that enable the flow of data within and between systems
  • Work with application teams to understand data base designs and data flows across the relevant applications
  • Develop recommendations for new applications and processes or enhancements to current applications as needed to ensure business requirements are met
  • Develop reputation as go to resource for supporting Publishing’s practices as applied to Royalty Accounting and related systems

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years in business systems analysis with at least 2 years of experience with large scale/complex systems
  • Comprehension of financial accounting required; demonstrated domain experience in royalty, resuduals or participations preferred
  • Experience with highly integrated accounting applications, including interfaces to SAP, forecasting, data warehouses, master data management, and product master is desirable
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to write clear business requirements
  • “Second-nature” accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work with distributed teams
  • Fully proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint software
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Visio or other tools for process modeling
  • Demonstrated experience using Agile methodology and tools, such as Jira
  • General understanding of the concepts, capabilities, and integration of relational databases, application development languages or packages, operating systems and IT infrastructure
  • Familiarity with OLAP data warehousing and/or Business Intelligence reporting tools such as Microstrategy

Required Education

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or other related field, or equivalent work experience
