Senior Product Manager Everyday Banking – Payments and FX – GCB4
The role of Senior Product Manager is to manage our strategic and mandatory development of payments and FX, drive improvements in our customer journeys (including NPS) and advise/represent for Payments/FX/Everyday Banking on industry matters.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the definition and sponsor the delivery of key strategic project to simplify journeys relating to payments and FX
- Ensuring payments and FX product lines hit their combined P&L financial targets through management of key drivers
- Understanding the competitive, industry and global development of payments and FX, including what it means for our management and development of products and for customers
- Providing strategic direction and ownership of activities for Sub Value Streams of Make a Payment ensuring delivery of business outcomes
- Engaging with Industry relations teams to engage, inform and influence the industry/regulatory agenda in relation to payments and FX.
- Driving positive customer outcomes from interactions across the product lifecycle: including end to end customer journeys improvements for everyday banking products and services
- Developing an expert knowledge of customer base, market trends, and competitor activities in order to develop the journey improvements and manage the strategic development of payments/fx products
- Representing HSBC UK with global stakeholders, developing advocacy for the UK strategy, and supporting the group strategic agenda.
- Leading virtual (and direct if appropriate) teams across the business to deliver towards business outcomes
- Chairing and participating in relevant oversight and management committees
- Representing Retail Banking on industry matters and across line of business interests
- Collaborating with expert team (e.g. 2oL teams) to provide solutions to business/customer issues
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Considerable experience of Product Management of Payments and/or FX – proven track record.
- Detailed understanding of competitors, market and regulatory landscape for Payments and FX products
- A good understanding of technical systems, third-parties and relevant stakeholders.
- Previous experience in dealing with complex regulatory change and improving key journeys and backend processes to improve the customer experience.
- Proven people leader with the ability to motivate and develop team members
- High level of knoweldge and experience of risk and control environment
- Ability to influence others at all levels to help deliver change and improvement across the Bank
- Deep understanding of customer needs and ability to translate this into compelling solutions for Payments/FX products
- Ability to think strategically about the market we operate in and set a clear vision on the strategy for the area
- Strong and proven quantitative and analytical background
