We are looking for a highly motivated, customer obsessed, results driven and analytical Senior Product Manager who will own product sourcing for the Consumables Private Brand categories in scope.
The successful candidate possesses superb business judgment, with a track record of successful negotiations and team collaboration. The ideal candidate is a smart, hard-working and creative person who loves solving challenging problems and ‘getting it done’. The candidate should feel comfortable dealing with ambiguity and working in an entrepreneurial environment.
The position is based in London.
Key responsibilities include:
· Work with Product Developers to ensure product selection is appropriate for the marketplace and meets or exceeds customer expectations
· Define the sourcing strategy and select vendors
· Negotiate with vendors to hit commercial and in-stock guardrails
· Lead sign-off of product ranges, including presentation to senior management
· Manage vendor relationships on an on-going basis and work to optimise our vendor base
· Lead process improvement and continuous improvement projects
· Analyse key P&L metrics, and recommend and implement actions to improve product performance
· Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle
· Collaborate with other members of the cross-functional CPB team, including Product Developers, Commercialisation Project Managers, Food Safety and Food Quality
· Developing a network of internal (e.g. country retail teams) and external (e.g. consultants, trade associations) advisors for category specific understanding and initiatives
· University degree, preferably in a technical, business or analytical discipline
· 5+ years of experience in a buying role in a retail / FMCG environment
· Proven analytical, project management and organizational skills, managing and executing large projects from start to finish
· High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
· Ability to influence teams and deliver through others
· Tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment
· Excellent communication and analytical skills, proficiency in Excel
· Fluency in English
· MBA from leading business school
· Fluency in a second European language
