What’s the role about?
As a Partner in our business, your number one focus is to work collaboratively to create more value for our customers and our business. Within the Partnerships' Procurement team, in this role of Senior Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering procurement sourcing activity within the Marketing Category.
You will work with a broad set of stakeholders to actively challenge how the business allocates costs, commits spend and manages third parties with the aim of reducing the overall GNFR spend, maximising value and reducing third party risk for the Partnership. You will be part of a highly engaged and committed team and will strive to deliver best value through your procurement, sourcing and negotiation expertise.
What will you be doing?
You will be part of the Category Planning and Sourcing team within Procurement and focussing specifically on the Retail and Professional Services (RPS) Category, reporting to the Procurement Lead, RPS.
You will work closely with the broader Procurement Team, Finance, Legal and Marketing stakeholders delivering value through effective source to contract activity and negotiation. The ability to engage and interact with a broad range of stakeholders, prioritise activity and support strategic category planning are all key areas in which the successful candidate will thrive.
You will be responsible for a number of key activities, including:
Running Tender activity, both alone and as a support to a Procurement Manager.
Negotiating commercial and contractual terms to the benefit of the Partnership
Hosting, attending and participating in meetings with key stakeholders and suppliers
Analysing data and reviewing with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and benefit
Helping to develop and implement category plans within the area of Marketing.
We are seeking a confident, ambitious team player who will have a passion for Procurement and who is prepared to provide robust challenges to business partners at all stages of the cost cycle to drive consistent delivery of commercial benefit to the Partnership.
What you’ll have
Category planning, sourcing, and negotiation experience, ideally including previous experience of the Marketing Category;
MCIPS qualified or working towards;
Solid understanding of negotiation principles and best practice including experience in commercial negotiation and the ability to take the lead and own on negotiations;
Good experience of contract law and drafting agreements;
Excellent communication and influencing skills;
Broad understanding of procurement strategy, policy, and process;
Professional Negotiation such as The GAP Partnership Essential and/or Complete Skilled Negotiator.- Preferable but not essential

Ability to challenge stakeholders, building and managing strong relationships both internally and externally to maximise delivery of the Procurement GNFR cost out agenda.
