Job Description:
The Procurement Competitive Events Team is responsible for all types of competitive sourcing including renewals, new products and services, existing product renewals (e.g. professional services, hardware, telecom, software, and cloud). The successful candidate will have a strategic mentality while working across Procurement and our business groups to provide Fidelity the best price and terms while mitigating risk. The individual will have strong communications skills as they partner with internal partners, Fidelity leaders, and suppliers to achieve stronger scale and efficiency.
The Team
Fidelity procurement helps business units make thoughtful purchasing decisions that reduce risk and improve value for the firm. In this role you will assist associates that engage Procurement as they look to work with a new vendor or make changes to a current vendor relationship. The person will directly, or indirectly, engage and negotiate with large and small vendors. As a leader within a deal team, this person will collaborate with business unit product managers, contract managers, vendor managers, risk, ESG, legal, and finance to develop sourcing strategies.
The Expertise You Have
Experience as a Product Manager or in Category Operations
Ability to influence cross-functional project teams through complex projects
Understanding of Fidelity business organizations
BS/BA in business administration or 3+ years of equivalent experience

Ability to influence various project team members
Background in negotiation, vendor management or product management including performance oversight
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Knowledge of business terms and conditions
Consistent track record of strong collaboration and teamwork
Detail oriented with a focus on continuous improvement skills
Passion and enthusiasm for driving optimum business outcomes
Capable of leading negotiations and performing financial, technical, commercial and performance evaluations of suppliers
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Strong customer focus and collaboration/teamwork skills

Analyze data and market trends to align strategies within category segments
Lead the sourcing, negotiations, contracting and procurement process across different Fidelity business divisions
Engage and regularly collaborate with various members across the Procurement organization and Business units
Work to achieve outstanding pricing with suppliers on negotiations
Prepare RF(x) and lead teams in the source selection process
