Job Description
Ingredion is hiring a Senior Process Development Engineer in our Process Technology Group who will be responsible for supporting process research and commercialization of fiber processing technologies. The position will be leading or supporting projects in our Clean and Simple Growth Platform.
Core Responsibilities:
- Planning and performing lab and pilot plant experiments to support New Product Development or Process Innovation projects
- Driving investigation into new process technologies
- Making recommendations for commercializing new technologies supported by experimental data
- Scanning open literature for emerging technologies related to the field
- Collaborating effectively with manufacturing personnel and cross-functional teams to commercialize new products/processes, as well as troubleshoot and optimize existing processes
- Leading scale-up trials at manufacturing locations
- Analyzing production data to identify root cause for process failures
- Preparing and maintaining updated task level project plans
- Actively participating in project team meetings and providing status updates against project plans and milestones
- Writing reports and effectively communicating results to the project team and stakeholders
- Operating laboratory equipment safely and with little direct supervision to support project needs
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Following guidelines set-up for good housekeeping, GMPs, and safety

Qualified Candidates will have:
- MS/BS with 2 to 5+ years of relevant experience in Chemical, Biochemical or Food Engineering
- Experience with processing fruit and vegetable fibers and cellulosic materials, is highly desired
- Working knowledge of separation and drying techniques in both aqueous and solvent-based processes, is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage numerous projects independently
- Flexibility to balance and handle both long-term development projects and short-term troubleshooting needs
- Critical analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong computer and communication skills, both written and oral
- Experience with statistical software for experimental designs and data analysis is a plus
- Ability to constructively interact with colleagues from a wide variety of roles within the company
