What will you be doing?
As a Senior Portfolio Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of multiple client facing delivery projects. Typically leading a number of projects which could include matrix management of up to 150 internal colleagues up to and including Programme Manager level, the Senior Portfolio Manager is accountable for the successful delivery against the agreed scope, timeline, budget and forecast revenue targets.
This is a true leadership role responsible for driving and engaging with all necessary senior stakeholders and governance forums to ensure the successful delivery of all projects included within the portfolio. This role will also involve the creation and delivery of strategic objectives to optimise the performance of the delivery function within Vodafone.
There is an element of ensuring a consistent delivery approach is adopted and the necessary controls implemented within the Projects and Programmes Management practice. This is underpinned by the methodologies and governance regimes prescribed.
The primary focus of this role is on delivery - to deliver all projects in line with business case expectations (time, cost and quality).
Who are we looking for?
An individual with demonstrable experience of successfully managing portfolios of multiple projects with a combined revenue value typically in excess of £50m
Typically reporting at director level, experience of managing senior stakeholder governance forums and reporting against strategic objectives
A highly structured approach to delivery through extensive knowledge and use of recognised methodologies such as MSP and PRINCE 2 within a technology environment
Exceptional understanding of dependency and risk management
Experience of leading and managing multiple disparate delivery teams totalling 75+ matrix FTE’s plus contractors
Excellent knowledge of resource forecasting
Extensive experience running a project profit and loss account and delivering against challenging financial targets in a highly competitive customer facing market
Excellent communication and facilitation skills
Highly advanced leadership, stakeholder management & negotiation skills, with a proven ability to build relationships and influence at all level
Experience in programme and project budget management
