Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Capacity, Supply Chain & Provisioning (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. Our mission is to deliver the world’s computer with an industry-leading supply chain. CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.

Microsoft Cloud business is growing at a very fast pace and the supply chain to fulfill capacity needs for capacity-hungry Cloud business is getting complex with new scenarios emerging continuously. The need to find solutions leveraging engineering mindset has never been stronger. We are fulfilling capacity needs from public clouds, sovereign clouds, specialized workloads, each going through high growth. We have a goal to be a Top 25 supply chain in the world in the next 3 years and are looking for people who can get innovative in solution envisioning, have a high bias for action and obsess over customer experience. Problem solutions can span from building world class customer experience in self-serve capacity management, intelligently fulfilling capacity in any world location by matching customer demand across millions of customers with incoming supply, late binding decisions to mitigate shortages, applying mathematical optimization and machine learning etc. In summary, there is no shortage of problems for engineering solutions.

We have a fantastic opportunity in the CSCP Strategy & Transformation organization for a proven Senior PM Manager to manage a team of technical Program Managers as we build engineering systems that optimally deliver capacity and continuously protect the capacity experience of Microsoft’s Cloud customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of engineering PMs
• Work closely with business/partner teams to understand and define key business scenarios and requirements
• Work with team leaders on key programs and strategic initiatives to develop clarity on PM scope and deliverables.
• Establish a results-oriented, metrics-driven programmatic approach to deliver strategic initiatives.
• Help establish a scalable PM framework that provides visibility and ensures success for CSCP’s project and program portfolio.
• Refine methodology, tools and templates for continuous improvement.
• Advance CSCP’s PM capability by evaluating and improving program management capabilities and encouraging and applying PM best practices across the organization.
• Define best practices for business cases that drive long-term, integrated, cross-business solutions and roadmaps that improve business performance and mitigate risk.
• Drives the identification and prioritization of opportunities for improvement across processes or services. Evangelizes proposed changes across groups.
• Drives simplification and automation to evolve processes, services, and solutions, to increase agility and efficiencies and lower costs.
• Build and lead the delivery of key projects and programs within the CSCP organization as well as across the C+AI division.
• Create, develop and lead a world class program management team that regularly and successfully delivers complex, impactful and visible infrastructure projects and programs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• 12+ years combined experience into Program Management, Data Science/Operations Research, Software Development OR Technical/engineering role(s).
• BS in Engineering or Computer Science or Quantitative fields or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience leading program management and/or implementing large-scale automation systems.
• 2+ years Managing teams of program/project managers

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS degree in a quantitative field
• Proven experience in collaborating across engineering, business, and operational teams.
• Proven experience working with project management methodologies and practices
• High proficiency in verbal and written communication, ability to interact with diverse groups across multiple organizational levels
• Familiarity with change management methodologies & ability to drive solution adoption across the organization
• Creative problem-solving & analytical skills to drive keen insights and understand root causes combined with a “sense of urgency” to develop solutions
• Previous experience with advanced data analytics & modeling is a big plus
