An amazing opportunity for a Senior People Finance Analyst. The post holder will constructively challenge and re-evaluate the People team reporting requirements to improve efficiency and commerciality. They will also ensure People systems and records are reconciled with all other systems and finance ledgers and that the appropriate financial controls are in place. Identifying key trends in People Data to ensure key decisions can be made.
Key Responsibilities:
• Accountable for reviewing and developing best control processes between People team & Finance to enable accurate and timely transactional posting.
• Provide support to the Finance BP, to develop reporting best practice and enabling consistency across functional areas.
• Retail management structure reporting – Working closely with the Retail Finance team
• Proactively review all People team reporting to highlight areas of risk and opportunity, offering insight and opinion.
• Hold monthly cost reviews with the budget holders in the People team, including the People Director, tracking costs vs budget and forecast alongside providing analysis and recommendations. Liaising with this population to support the Finance BP in creation of the budget and quarterly forecasts.
• Align with People & Finance Business Partners, to ensure standard reports are meeting customer needs.
• Build processes to automate People data reporting and management reporting tools.

• Support all People teams to provide financial implications and recommendations of legislation and internal actions. This to include National Living Wage analysis and recommendations, Gender Pay reporting and insight, Ethnicity Pay Gap reporting and insight, P11d reporting, bonus and pay review calculations, HR system changes, pension support and Internal structural change implications.
• Support the Payroll team with the reconciliation of the payroll balance sheet (including season ticket loads), being the conduit between Finance and Payroll to ensure accurate accounting of costs. To additionally include review of the People costs on the P&L and liaising with core accounting to support in accurate posting of HR costs.
• Support in the completion of government surveys – e.g ONS, Quarterly business survey, Business Register and Employment Survey
• Design and create ad hoc reports to support the reporting requirements of the business and People team.
• Support the HRIS project as and when required.
• Presentation of key financials to the People team at their monthly leadership meeting
About You:
• Relevant practical experience gathered across a range of roles in a broad profit-driven business context.
• A part or recently qualified accountant who understands the financial implications of decisions and can make sound recommendations accordingly.
Essential skills/knowledge
• Ability to de-mystify financial & non-financial information.
• Provide clear and concise reporting and analysis resulting in balanced guidance and judgement.
• Strong financial control skills.
• Analytical mind with attention to detail.
• Clear written, oral, and presentational communication skills.
• Excellent PC skills to include Excel, Powerpoint, and databases.
• Comprehensive and fully developed understanding of HR, commercial, financial, and operational metrics.
• Continued re-evaluation and development of financial reporting and analysis.
• Open and receptive to new ideas and concepts
• The ability to juggle a variety of tasks in a time pressured environment where re-prioritising is the norm.
