Cox Communications is searching for an innovative Application Engineer III  to join our Business Solutions and Automation Team (BSAT) in Outside Plant Engineering and Construction (OSP E&C)  . You will support tool administration within the Construction department. You will need to understand the business/project needs & will work with other Analysts, Developers, and Software Administrators to develop, document, and validate system requirements and resolve user support items. You will collaborate with the design teams to determine application, database, & other system impacts based on the requirements. You will be the Application Administrator for various applications within the Outside Plant Center Operations team and will be responsible for managing /resolving Tier I support tickets for OSPC tools via Remedy or Chat. You will also be asked to perform Business Analyst duties to analyze and assess all capability needs of our OSPC customers, including but not limited to, gathering and documentation of business requirements, validation of business requirements/user stories, documentation of test scripts for testing/training, facilitation of user acceptance testing, creation of user guides/methods & procedures (M&Ps), and end-user support.  You should have a strong understanding of OSP E&C processes, programs and tools and will be working on activities that include, but are not limited to tools/solutions that enable programs such as, NT 2.0 (N0/Node Splits), WATTS implementation, Remedy ESRs/Cable Replacements, Residential Build/FTTH, as well as CB Retail and Carrier activities for Construction. You should have experience working directly with stakeholders to elicit all relevant information needed to document comprehensive requirements. As such, the ability to communicate complex information in simple ways is a plus.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Serve as Application Support for multiple toolsets supporting Construction fulfillment activities. 

• Works with or as a Business Analyst to interpret customer and business needs and translate them into application, system, technical and operational requirements. 

• Documents requirements – leads a team of resources responsible for documenting requirements by using requirement elicitation techniques like brainstorming, requirements workshops, focus groups, etc.

• Lead and create fully functional Test Scripts to support testing and training for department applications. 

• Provides analytical support and business/technical review for submitted UET/Remedy (Unified Event Ticketing), emails and BAU (Business as Usual) needs to ensure alignment with ongoing enhancements and changes across multiple platforms. 

• Attend recurring meetings and work as needed across multiple fulfillment toolsets inside Outside Plant Construction. 

• Engages and participates in projects/applications requirement sessions to ensure proper technical requirements are clearly documented, testable, and managed. 

• Will work closely with business and boundary partners (Field Operations, Customer Care, Engineering and vendors) to support application lifecycle from development through implementation. 

• Determines impact on existing applications & databases based on requirements. 

• Works directly with Development and QA teams to complete application implementations with minimal impact to customers.

• Develops technical documentation, processes, installation procedures and service guides, application training information and may assist in the development of end-to-end documentation for various projects and supported products/applications. 

• Reviews vendor documents as appropriate including detailed functional specifications, and file and field layouts and determines if vendor solutions meet Cox requirements. 

• Possesses a clear understanding of the architecture standards, an understanding of the business, and a deep understanding of respective domain architectures (business, information, application, technology). 

• Provide support to Construction Fulfillment toolset within Construction.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

• 5 or more years of experience with end user/application technical support and troubleshooting and/or business analysis

• Strong understanding of OSP E&C processes, programs and tools, including WATTS, CMAC, RAMT, SiteTracker, etc. 

• Experience in the telecommunications industry

• Experience with UET/Remedy

• Experience with identifying/documenting requirements and user story testing/validation

• Experience with issue-to-resolution customer support and training

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline ((i.e. Engineering, Computer Science, Business/Finance, or similar technical degree).

• Knowledge of Cox Construction initiatives, objectives, and job types

• Construction or Engineering experience 

• Experience with process improvement
