Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Operations Specialist will be responsible for designated subject matter expertise for systems and processes, implementation of process improvements and support for key business initiatives including operational aspects of new, nonstandard, and complex transactions. In this role, you will support the operations team supervisors, assisting with the review of daily work activities and training and onboarding new team members.

Key Accountabilities

• Provide subject matter expertise for systems and processes for operational activities including trade confirmation, margining, settlement, and cash management.
• Utilize comprehensive technical knowledge and operations experience to provide guidance to the operations team in resolving issues to support business activities.
• Actively participate in key business initiatives and champion implementation efforts within the operations team with an emphasis on delivering customer centric solutions.
• Investigate opportunities to improve systems and processes without compromising adherence to applicable policies and controls and maintain current automated systems and look to further enhance capabilities as needed to support business growth and initiatives.
• Initiate operational processes and trade documentation for nonstandard, complex transactions or newly created products and geographies and provide guidance to the operations team on execution.
• Provide backup for the operations team in reviewing trade documentation and invoices, margining and cash management activities and maintain a high level of internal control to assure regulatory and internal compliance.
• Assist with training and onboarding of new team members and help to further develop the knowledge of existing team members through training and transition of new customers, products, and transactions once documentation and settlement processes are established.
• Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Familiarity confirming and settling over the counter derivative transactions
• Minimum of four years of related work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience working within a regulated business environment
• Experience in operations of over-the-counter commodity derivative transactions
• Bilingual abilities are a plus
