Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Capacity, Supply Chain & Provisioning (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. Our mission is to deliver the world’s computer with an industry-leading supply chain. CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.

Spares & Warranty Team
We have an exciting opportunity on the Spares & Warranty team for a high energy Senior Program Manager. Spares & Warranty is reinventing and transforming the cloud service parts supply chain to enable increased customer focus, quality, and efficiency as part of our journey to achieve world-class status. This position is vital for enabling and empowering process & system change as part of the journey to a world-class supply-chain and MRO organization. The ideal candidate will possess superior program management and business analysis skills, a strong bias for data-driven decision-making to influence key strategic outcomes, and proven experience with successful implementation of MRP/ERP solutions. The role will be responsible to manage, execute and optimize inventory planning models, to manage spare parts life cycle related to warranty entitlement, and to work together with cross-functional Microsoft Cloud operations, engineering teams, and external suppliers to jointly deliver initiatives needed to support the desired end-state. This Senior Program Manager role will reside in the Spares Planning & Warranty function focused on ensuring the right part, is in the right place, at the right time, by developing and executing the near and long-term strategy through transformation of people, process, and tools. A successful candidate is a self-starter with a strong work ethic, highly team-oriented, tenacious, and focused on achieving measurable results. This is a highly collaborative role, where you will need to confidently work across the Microsoft Cloud organization at all levels to drive delivery of key initiatives and strategic programs & projects that support Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Help define & drive transformation of spares inventory planning, service models, warranty redemption & supply chain compliance to the next generation service parts supply chain & MRO business process models to scale with Microsoft’s growth
  • Deliver on key strategic programs & projects that enable the service parts supply chain business for Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure\
  • Partner with data center operations to promote transparency of warranty entitlement & sparing strategy
  • Identify opportunities related to inventory optimization, warranty entitlement & compliance
  • Plan & optimize global inventory of service parts for all warranty service models to meet target service levels and budget requirements
  • Develop annual service parts budget forecast and proactively manage budget needs based on business requirements
  • Drive cross-team alignment and progress on a forward-looking plans
  • Define processes and deliver business requirements for systematic solutions, enabling inventory planning and service part repair operations at scale
  • Work with multiple software engineering teams to define capabilities, drive prioritization of work, delivery schedules and related resource plans
  • Strong technical aptitude with excellent visual and verbal communication skills with ability to influence business and technical decision makers
  • Build relationships, gain consensus, remove tension/roadblocks and focus on the solution
  • Implement measurement frameworks to enable data-driven decision making
  • Cultivate strategic relationships globally
  • Responsible for managing continuous improvements and process initiatives in parallel to day-to-day business

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in the Cloud server/network hardware supply chains or equivalent complex, large-scale manufacturing supply chain and/or service repair operations environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands on experience in supply chain inventory planning, multi-echelon inventory optimization, transformation strategies, process reengineering, and major systems deployments
  • Demonstrated technical problem solving and communication skills with a focus on process optimization and automated engineering solutions
  • Demonstrated bias for action and ability to drive clarity and eliminate ambiguity
  • Proven capability delivering results through cross-group collaboration and partnership
  • Good interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with business and technical teams
  • Demonstrated expertise in dealing with ambiguity associated with working in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Adept in program management in highly collaborative organizational models
  • Define & drive to detailed program schedules, including senior-level program-level reviews to share scope, schedule, issues, and risks
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities with minimal oversight
  • Proven track record of strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and solution design
  • Eager to learn, curious, customer-focused with persistent attention to details
  • Knowledge of key IT and service industry concepts
  • Proficient with Microsoft O365 applications, Visio, MS Project, SQL, and Power BI SAP proficiency a plus
  • Lean/Six-Sigma, Kaizen, Agile, CPIM/CSCP certification a plus MS/MBA preferred

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
