Role Overview:
As part of NS&E’s Proposal team, you will be working in a diverse group providing deliverables & generating input to proposals for Firm Fixed Price/Lump Sum/Cost Reimbursable type projects associated with marine/heavy industrial facilities, renovation or repair of large waterfront facilities, Department of Energy and Department of Defense high hazard/nuclear facilities, nuclear power plants, and general government infrastructure. This multi-functional team will include personnel from Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Startup.
Job Responsibilities:
This role will support design development of Mechanical systems and equipment for various projects in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements, using independent judgment with limited oversight.
Prepare engineering deliverables to support estimates and proposals.
Review Scope of Work documentation provided by potential clients to identify engineering scope and needed staffing.
Perform material take-offs for estimating purposes in the area of Mechanical Systems.
Prepare and review quantity estimates.
Interface with other disciplines and functions to ensure completeness of material take-offs and to ensure interfaces between disciplines and functions are properly identified.
Review client provided design documentation for completeness and gaps.
Interface with clients as directed.
Basic Qualifications:
Level 1: BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related), from an accredited university, with at least 6 years of relevant experience
Level 2: BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related), from an accredited university, with at least 9 years of relevant experience
Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to, drawings, calculations, and specifications for Mechanical systems and equipment on nuclear or industrial process facilities, data centers, central utility plants, or complex building mechanical systems.
US citizenship is required.
Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Minimum Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
Possess active security clearance or the ability to obtain a security clearance.
Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards
Registered Professional Engineer in the USA (Mechanical or related Engineering) or ability to obtain registration within one year of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ISO-9000.
Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably DOE and DOD.
Knowledge of Bechtel Corporate guides and standards.
