Amazon Publishing is the full-service publishing arm of Amazon. Our mission is to empower outstanding storytellers and connect them with readers worldwide. Amazon Publishing is looking for a creative and highly entrepreneurial Senior Marketing Manager to join our exciting and fast-paced team.
The successful candidate will be a passionate advocate for our author brands, helping the business invent new ways to connect authors with readers.
The candidate will ignite and fuel big ideas. This role is highly cross-functional requiring you to develop innovative demand generation products and programs. The candidate will be a strong connector, rolling up their sleeves to create strong partnerships and IP opportunities across Amazon and externally.
They will be able to implement effective marketing strategies, be data-driven, detail-oriented, organised, capable of handling multiple projects at once, and capable of dealing with ambiguity and rapidly-changing priorities.
This position requires performing at the highest standards with significant judgment. You are energetic, proactive and flexible. A strong work ethic and a good sense of humour are a must.
This position will be based at the Amazon offices in London or Munich.
What you'll be doing:
· Strategy & Planning: Help develop multi-year innovative author marketing strategies and campaign plans from conception to implementation.
· Cross-functional partnering: Collaborate and invent with Amazon Partner, Publishing teams and agencies to help creating innovative, coordinated and compelling marketing and author branding opportunities.
· Performance Marketing: Strategic planning of effective performance marketing campaigns for our titles in Germany and the UK
· Measurement: Evaluate and measure the effectiveness of programs, investments and campaigns. Work closely with internal teams to establish fully integrated testing plans; Testing, learning and optimizing new approaches will be of critical importance.
· Performance Marketing Experience
· Several years’ experience in online marketing, advertising and/or publicity experience.
· Excellent communicator both verbally and written with an ability to communicate with all levels in the organization (technical, business, executive).
· Proven self-starter, roll up your sleeves doesn’t take-no-for-an-answer attitude with incredible bias for action. Pushes for action/change in the face of challenges and moves projects along autonomously.
· Proven ability to think strategically and execute methodically autonomously.
· Proven ability to innovate, generate results, and analyse data to measure those results.
· Proven ability to develop content strategies
· Passion for conceiving, designing, building, and shipping ideas
· Passionate about challenging conventional thinking
· Decision Making/ Complex Problem Solving- system thinker who proactively gathers the right data from appropriate sources to make the right decisions.
· Nimbleness and comfort with ambiguity; demonstrated track record of creative problem solving.
· High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
· Several years’ experience in online marketing, digital publishing, advertising and/or publicity experience.
