We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of  Senior Marketing Manager, Performance and Planning

 

HSBC are accelerating plans to transform, building on agility, innovation and customer centricity as we become a bank fit for the future. This role is part of the Global Marketing function. The function focuses on understanding present and future customer needs, identification of market opportunities, development and execution of marketing strategies, and programmes. The ultimate goal is to drive improvements in HSBC brand equity and contribute to customer growth, revenue growth, increase customer value and satisfaction in order to meet agreed objectives and key results.

  1. The primary accountability of this role it to manage and drive Marketing performance improvement and Marketing investment planning.
  2. Geographical Remit – Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region (cross line of business).
  3. The role holder is accountable to the Head of Planning, Performance, Ops and Governance
  4. The role holder is responsible to the Regional Marketing Function in achieving their vision and objectives through marketing activity.
  5. The role holder will deliver this through active performance management, marketing investment planning & analysis within the regional Marketing function.

 

Accountabilities for Business, Customers and Stakeholders

  • Lead Performance and Enablement tasks and drive all Marketing Performance projects implementation
  • Drive market/ regional level marketing investment planning for Marketing
  • Lead all Marketing Performance analysis, investment planning analysis & optimization for Marketing
  • Lead process improvement and governance activities at a regional or market level
  • Liaison with Finance, Analytic & Business (cross line of business) to drive marketing performance measurement as well as manage direct and indirect Marketing cost management
  • Drive continuous improvement of marketing processes and promote guidance and direction of process management to create synergy between business lines within the Marketing function

 

Leadership & Teamwork 

  • Act as a consultant around marketing planning, performance and governance for different business lines.
  • Be the single point contact for Global Marketing COO function on all Marketing Performance & planning.
  • Collaborate with country Marketing Programme teams to drive marketing performance & planning.
  • Be able to leverage Finance, Analytic & other functions to drive Marketing Performance recommendation/ optimization & manage direct and indirect Marketing investment planning.
  • Encourage and enable constructive cross-country and cross-business collaboration.
  • Demonstrate Customer Centricity by thinking and acting beyond product sales.
  • Adopt and champion the agile ways of working in marketing and participate in business value streams/ cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrate and champion a speak-up culture by challenging actions and behaviours that are not consistent with HSBC's policies and/or the best interests of the business and its customers.
 

Qualifications

 

Functional Knowledge

  • Marketing professional with understanding of latest developments in the marketing and media world
  • Have depth of both classical and contemporary channels
  • Understand the use of data and analytics in deriving customer value
  • Are passionate about the customer and obsessed with customer outcomes
  • Degree level qualification in finance, analytic and/or business studies related discipline preferred
  • Solid understanding of Marketing performance & budget management
  • Project management experience is a preferable
  • Evidence of team leadership attributes. Experience and evidence of working within teams over multiple sites in a highly matrixed organization
  • Result-orientated and solution driven
  • Able to influence at senior level to drive improvement. Proven ability to influence leadership teams
  • Proven ability to be a self-starter with energy and drive in a challenging and dynamic environment
  • Ability to think innovatively, shaping and communicating new concepts
  • Ability to bring key stakeholders and functional colleagues with them as marketing strategies and plans are developed
  • Ability to distil complex business and customer environment into simple, strategically sound and insight led stories
