This role is part of the Global Marketing function and is focused on supporting the strategic and revenue growth priorities of two global businesses: Commercial Banking (CMB) and Global Banking & Markets (GBM). These two business lines manage relationships with businesses ranging from small start-ups to some of the world’s largest and most complex multi-nationals. We focus on understanding present and future customer needs and the identification, development and execution of marketing strategies, campaigns and activities that support and strengthen the HSBC brand, support the drive for revenue and increase customer value and satisfaction in order to meet agreed targets and objectives at both a global and market level.    

 

The overall responsibilities of this Senior Marketing Manager role for Propositions & Products to Transaction Banking are to partner with the business to develop needs-based growth opportunities for Corporate segments, translate business strategy into marketing activity, and provide global direction to B2B Marketing teams on the customer needs and strategic priorities for Corporates. Working mainly across GTRF, GLCM and Global Banking, this role should influence and communicate the strategy effectively, act as a proactive voice of the customer to inform business decisions with insight, and develop effective go-to-market strategies to support growth across Corporate segments. This role will also work closely with the B2B Marketing Strategy & Planning team to lead agile sprints that will deliver key programmes as part of the marketing plan for Corporates.  

 

Governance and Committee Memberships

Although this role won’t sit on any Excos, there will be a number of steercos and working groups related to Transaction Banking, Capital Markets, Global Banking and digital innovation that the role holder will be an active member of.

 

Accountabilities for Business, Customers and Stakeholders

  • Drive the marketing strategy at a global level to support growth amongst Corporate clients across the CMB and GBM businesses
  • Support the development of propositions and the go-to-market strategy for products that meet the needs of Corporate clients, particularly as they relate to Transaction Banking (GTRF, GLCM) and Capital Markets product suites
  • Work closely with regional Marketing teams to ensure co-creation and holistic input to the global marketing strategy
  • Provide a deep understanding of customer needs, across Corporate segments, driving proactive proposition development and defining needs-based growth opportunities.
  • Lead agile sprints, together with the B2B Marketing Strategy & Planning team, to deliver customer-led marketing programmes at pace.
  • Lead for, and actively embed, a data driven omni-channel approach to inform and enhance marketing plans and performance criteria
  • Develop briefs for B2B Marketing Strategy & Planning, Marketing Programmes, Customer Insight, COO teams where relevant and lead agile sprints to develop the marketing strategy for Corporates, providing assets, toolkits and materials for Regional teams where relevant
  • Manage stakeholder relationships with the business where relevant, particularly within Global Banking, GTRF and GLCM.

  • Be part of the global B2B marketing senior team
  • Champion commerciality across marketing and the use of data and technology to inform marketing plans and effective results

  • Actively listen and co-create with regional partners, delivering best practice for use globally/regionally/locally.

  • Identify and work with key stakeholders to gain buy-in and ensure that strategies and solutions will be effectively delivered.
  • Promote an environment that reflects the HSBC brand and values.
 

Qualifications

 

Functional Knowledge

  • Extensive broad based business experience, within a Financial Services organisation. 
  • Demonstrable experience as a strategic thinker and proven ability to identify strategic needs based solutions. 
  • Extensive marketing data and tech skills, able to identify use cases for growth opportunities based on data and use the most effective digital marketing channels and techniques to enhance marketing performance. 
  • Proven experience within Marketing, partnering with senior executives and C level business leaders. 
  • Experience of supporting clients in Global Banking, Capital Markets and Transaction Banking are key for the role. 
  • Experience in leading agile sprints and working with teams over multiple sites demonstrating excellent relationship building skills.
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, with proven ability to influence executive and senior management.
  • Experience of Commercial and Investment banking businesses, ideally with frontline knowledge and understanding.
  • Understanding of customer centricity and commitment to put the customer at the heart of all activities.
  • Proven ability to be focused and drive in a dynamic global environment. 
  • Extensive broad based business experience, within a business to business services based institution.
