The Senior Manager of the Vendor Master Process, is responsible for supporting and delivering against the Global Vendor Master Strategy (aligned to the overall Global Process Owner’s Strategic Vision and the Strategic Imperatives of all Key Stakeholders) for the end-to-end Process, the Platforms that enable that process, the Standards that govern it and the Performance Analytics that ensure visibility to operational performance and opportunities for continuous improvement.

The Strategy will outline Key Priorities for A) Customer Relationship Management, B) Process & Policy Enhancement/Re-design Plans, C) Value Creation/Cost Reduction Commitments, D) Technology Roadmaps, E) Performance Metrics baseline, targets and reporting mechanisms, and F) Project wave plans to be executed by the Enable to Order Global Process team, including the associated Change Management Strategy and Training Plans for successful project deployment and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and Deliver against Global Vendor Mater Strategy (in support of the Enable to Order Global Process Owner) for end-to-end  Process, Platforms, Policies and Performance Analytics
  • Monitor, Analyze, and Improve Process Performance by defining and monitoring key performance indicators and adoption metrics, gathering stakeholder feedback, and redesigning the process as needed to deliver innovation and corrective actioning
  • Maintain current documentation of ‘As-Is’ Process Maps, Development Roadmaps and translation of these into clear Operational Work Instructions and Playbooks for the Vendor Master process
  • Streamline and simplify existing vendor forms and documents to improve internal and external user experience for the vendor onboarding and change process
  • Align with Global Process Owner team to identify areas of Business Need aligned to Customer Priorities, and identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement
  • Support the Development of Business Cases and define expected value for all key initiatives identified
  • Proactively Drive Customer Relationship Management Plans, ensuring consistent alignment to Stakeholder Objectives
  • Solicit feedback from internal users/customers, accountably driving a strong customer experience and proactively determining best response to continually improve process performance and year-over-year cost reductions
  • Support Global Process Owner to Invest in building and maintaining External Insight through Networking, Benchmarking, 3rd Party Supplier Engagement and Training, to ensure best-in-class Process Management Delivery
  • Support Global Process Owner to Identify and implement additional third party content sources to enhance business intelligence to enable more efficient and effective management of the supply base
  • Baseline supplier master data quality target definitions through creation of KPIs run against the supplier master of record
  • Conduct ongoing supplier master data management improvements through data cleansing and monitoring initiatives 
  • Collaborate with Finance, IT, Market Leads, and Integration Leads to integrate new merger and acquisition activity into the SAP and Ariba vendor master processes
  • Collaborate with Operations and third party service provider to support implementation of new vendor master tools, scope, processes, or changes in operating model

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Supply Chain desired; Undergraduate degree required
  • 7-10 years of experience within the Procurement and/or Supplier Enablement and Data Management process within similar large multi-national organization(s); Pharmaceutical experience and/or experience with health care professional transparency requirements preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Vendor Master Process, Platforms, Ariba Supplier module, Policies and Best Practices, with strong knowledge of adjacent upstream and downstream processes and demonstrated ability to collaborate to identify and deliver integration and efficiencies
  • Thorough understanding of SOX / Internal Controls
  • Demonstrated experience leading Change through process re-engineering and valuation/implementation of best practices and leading technologies
  • Expertise in Source to Pay technologies and automation (e.g. SAP, Ariba, Oracle) required; experience implementing and/or maintaining a supplier self-registration portal preferred
  • Strong leadership, verbal and written communications, project management, analytical, organization and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated Customer Service mindset and successful ability to lead through influence rather than authority
  • Solution-oriented thinker, with demonstrated ability to assess and promptly corrective action problems
  • Solid understanding of the role of the Global Process Owner Team in supporting the BMS Business Unit Objectives
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally, nationally and internationally as needed (estimated travel time: <25%)
