The position will be responsible for leading a team of valuation actuaries to provide actuarial support, advice and technical expertise in all aspects of matters related to actuarial valuation. Also, the role holder is responsible for strict compliance with all the local statutory requirement applicable to Cigna Hong Kong, including but not limited to IFRS, Insurance Authority reporting, HK RBC. In addition the role holder play an active role in the Asset-Liability Management for the company. Furthermore the role holder has to ensure all Cigna internal guidelines are met on actuarial reserving basis, financial reporting, capital and risk management. This individual plays a key role to develop the valuation team through training, coaching, planning and prioritizing resources.
Job Responsibilities:
Ensure timely and quality completion of the main actuarial tasks such as actuarial reserving processes under HK statutory basis, IFRS reporting, HKRBC reporting, and Insurance Authority reporting
Own the Asset-Liability Management function for the company to ensure adjusted investment return is optimized within the company’s risk appetite.
Own the agenda for the Investment and Asset Liability Committee meeting and support CFO/Chief Actuary accordingly
Drive the capital management for the company, including the annual capital plan and regular forecast. Partner with finance team on cash flow forecasting to develop optimal asset allocations
May also perform US GAAP valuation, and other actuarial and financial analysis such as business plan, VNB & EV reporting, as needed
Recommend the assumptions setting for actuarial reserving and financial projection based on the results of experience studies
Ensure all the valuation processes compliance with local regulatory regimes, company internal guidelines and SOX requirement
Manage and provide guidance to all the members in the valuation team and support the professional development of actuarial studies in the actuarial department
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor degree with FSA, FIA, FIAA or equivalent actuarial designation
As least 8 years of actuarial experience in life insurance industry
Strong knowledge in Hong Kong Statutory, USGAAP and IFRS accounting standard
Excellent analytical skill with strong PC skills and knowledge of EXCEL and ACCESS
Good communication and interpersonal skill with good command of both English and Chinese
Able to work under pressure and think independently
