The Senior Manager, Tax Technology, will play a key role in developing the Tax function using technology. In addition, this position will identify the technology needs of Tax to support our businesses and the rapidly changing external tax regulatory landscape.

This role will oversee new major Tax system updates/enhancements (Vertex, OneSource, TaxDriver) and Tax Service integration projects partnering closely with tax and non-tax business partners (Technology, Finance, Controllership and Financial System partners). Examples of relevant Tax Service projects this person will manage include Front-of-House sales system integrations to Vertex (i.e. Disney +, Hotstar, Hulu), Tax Data Lake expansion, Finance Optimization initiatives such as Source-to-Pay modernization, Procurement Company integrations and other large-scale business integration projects.

Responsibilities:

• Manages a team of 3 salaried employees including training, development, administration, etc.
• Will spend majority of time managing projects related to business and finance initiatives; prioritizing and managing a slate of overlapping tax requirements gathering, documenting, and testing (Estimate this will be 75% indirect tax and 25% income tax related)
• Supports tax aspects of major business initiatives (e.g., Streaming rollout, Hulu integration, Source to Pay Modernization) including requirement planning, testing, communication & training.
• Assist with the implementation, maintenance, and documentation of all tax applications (Vertex, SAP, BRIM, IAP taxability, ONESOURCE, WorkFront, etc.)
• Manage Indirect Tax Data Lake implementation and design strategy.
• Oversees RPA development and other Tax Transformation projects.
• Provides data for audit support across Tax and supports CbC reporting.
• Anticipate possible internal and external environment changes and assess whether the technology solutions and teams are prepared to address future needs.
• Further, develop and grow the technology skills of the wider tax team to enable the Tax Function of the Future via ongoing communication, training, skill development support, and tool access and training

Basic Qualifications:

• 8-12 years relevant work experience
• Experience working with Indirect Tax Systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with data tools
• SAP, Vertex O Series, Vertex Returns, PTMS, OneSource, Alteryx, Python

Required Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar field

Preferred Education

• Master’s Degree
• CPA preferred or CMI

This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely.
