The Role
The Customer Knowledge and Strategic Insights (CKSI) organization is seeking a highly motivated, strategic individual with a consultative mentality to be the Senior Research Manager of Strategic Insights. This role will be passionate about framing and answering key strategic questions for Fidelity’s Personal Investing (Retail) Business and helping to drive decisions regarding business unit strategy, customer segmentation, pricing and product bundling strategies. We are looking for a dynamic, strategic leader who can partner with the Agile business teams and the Senior Leadership Team to uncover groundbreaking insights and business recommendations that lead to differentiated marketing strategies and offerings that drive client loyalty and business outcomes.
This role will report to the VP of Strategic Research
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
The ideal candidate has 5-7 years of experience in conducting a broad range of market research studies and collaborating with business leaders through strategic insights
Experience leading strategic projects and working with senior partners
Experience working at Customer Obsessed organizations and/or digital first companies and driving research and insight programs
Experience working within cross-functional teams and forging partnerships
Financial Services Industry experience preferred
BA/BS required, MBA preferred
Strong research & quantitative analytical skills, including the ability to synthesize findings and develop practical, measurable recommendations
Capable of communicating with and influencing Fidelity leadership through relationship-building and high-quality presentations
Intellectual curiosity and ability to bring in new insights and thinking into the business
Experience in storytelling and developing presentations for senior level audiences
Strong attention to detail and comfort with ambiguity
Deep expertise and experience with primary research and marketing strategy, with specific applications in: innovation and new product related research, customer segmentation, product bundling, and pricing strategy
Proven expertise with key marketing research techniques
Executive presence – the ability to command attention, inspire confidence, and guide strategic discussions with senior-level management
Communication and interpersonal skills — ability to structure and deliver presentations clearly, crisply, and compellingly. Excellent verbal and written skills with proven track record to champion recommendations and influence decisions at all levels of management
Collaboration — track record of establishing effective cross-functional partnerships and relationships at all levels in a highly collaborative environment
Continual improvement — always looking for ways to improve – both individually and organizationally. This individual will need to continuously improve their own functional expertise and the overall performance of the organization.
Experience with generational research, particularly the youth market will be a plus
