The Contracting Solutions team at Cox Automotive has an open position for a Senior Manager, Software Engineering. We enable consumers, dealers and lenders transact by providing secure, reliable, and easy ways to manage the entire life cycle of a digital contract. About the position

Lead multiple teams of talented individuals, fostering an engineering culture conducive to stimulating innovative ideas, continuous improvement and passion in delivering on outcomes that drive Cox Automotive’s strategic growth

Work with Product Management and Architects to build a roadmap that continues to extend the platform and enable it to be a force multiplier

You are someone who fosters a culture of self-empowered teams and team members who are self-organizing, take decisions, make mistakes, learn from them, and challenge each other constructively

Your teams will be responsible for all aspects of the solution you build ranging from design to implementation to deployment to monitoring and support.

You will work with your teams to identify and respond to complex issues and deliverables, provide guidance in resolving them, bubble up risks and escalate for help when required

An ideal candidate would have 10+ years of experience with at least 5 years of experience in managing teams outside of US and coordinating work across different time zones.

Technology Skills

Hands on experience in working on large scale web applications built on technologies like Python, Django, SQL Alchemy, React, Mongo and Oracle or similar stack.

Experience leading major projects with API-first approach

Has a good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and how they contribute to velocity and quality

Is the torch bearer of DevOps and quality mindsets for the team

AWS experience a plus

Process

Puts a premium on quality

Security is never an after though, you think about non-functional requirements at every step

Experience operating in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

Questions status quo and strives for continuous improvements

You leverage data and apply context to analyze, plan and take decisions

Actively participates in design discussions and code review

Qualifications:

 BA/BS and 10 years of experience with at least 3 year experience in a management/leadership role; or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

Experience building large and complex projects at scale, and maintained them over many release cycles

Practical experience with software engineering best practices

Experience of having worked in a scrum environment and knowledge of scrum framework.

Diverse background in breadth of technologies ranging from .NET,  Java and modern UI frameworks.

Adept at articulating the product vision and drive the future roadmap with strong business acumen.
