Role Summary
Supervises, supports and produces responses to strategic, high value and high revenue national account opportunities typically in the form of bids, Request for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs) and other forms of customer requests.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Optimizes effectiveness of sales, product development, legal, regulatory, product management, operations, sales engineering and other departments to manage sales opportunities that may require ICB (Individual Case Basis) consideration and/or require complex solutions that may include special construction, special vendor/partner support/negotiations, beta product launch coordination, and local Cox market consideration.
Maintenance of a Cox Operations Department bids database for tracking, reporting and recording RFP type response information for win-loss analysis and product development consideration for product gap analysis.
Generates and analyzes data and metrics to track, trend, develop and benchmark strategies and tactics for overall future effectiveness. Focuses on building business intelligence through primary and secondary research.
May also require managing results oriented special projects geared toward adding value and revenue to our efforts by sourcing unique solutions, uncovering sales opportunities, and strengthening our sales efforts.
Develops, maintains and supports written and graphic response information used in the customer response process.
Coordinates with field and center support on critical and complex customer responses for service to meet critical customer timelines that are typically short with a peak season typically running over the winter holiday season that may require extended hours of support.
Edits RFP library content and customizes responses for accurate individual responses based on technical feasibility, specific customer content requirements, local market capabilities, legal liability and other considerations based on solutions that can be achieved, supported, installed and billed accurately if/when awarded.
Develops, maintains and delivers KPIs related to overall Customer Solicitation process.
Qualifications:
Minimum
7 or more years of experience required in related field (i.e. Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, Business Analysis, Business Operations, etc.)
5 or more years of experience required if candidate possesses a related advanced degree
Technical training/experience/aptitude for telecommunications services including voice, data, Wi-Fi, and video.
Technical writer training/experience/aptitude for bid responses
Stronger interpersonal skill requirements in coordinating information and support from all areas of our business in field personnel, center personnel, strategic outside partners, and potential other Cox divisions/business units. May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support personnel.
Knowledge and grasp of professional principles and skills. Knows and effectively uses fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Clear understanding and mastery of MS Word, Excel, SharePoint, spreadsheets, and writing is mandatory.
Basic Project Management and Coordination skills a must.
Preferred
BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired (i.e. Marketing, Business, or Engineering).
2 or more years of experience in a management role preferred
Tableau or other reporting experience a plus.
Proposal automation experience
Experience with content design and use of associated tools strongly preferred (ie Adobe Illustrator, In Design)
