 As a Senior Manager, Product Marketing, you will be both an advocate and subject matter expert for assigned products/programs and messaging and serve as a product/program subject matter expert within the Marketing organization. You will collaborate with internal departments across Cox Automotive such as Sales, Pricing, Product Management, Operations, Market Research, and teams within Marketing, including Content, Campaigns, and Digital.

Applying your market and product knowledge, you will lead the development of compelling value propositions and insightful market positioning and strategy to help Marketing and Sales achieve agreed-upon business goals. This role will work with teams from multiple brands across Cox Automotive to develop programs and positioning designed to broaden customer adoption and utilization of our collective products and services. 

Build a deep understanding of our products, our customers, vertical markets, and the competition across all the regions in which Cox Automotive does business. 

Be an expert on our buyers, who they are, how they buy, their jobs to be done, and their key buying criteria.

Understand the competitive landscape and know how competitors are positioned to contribute to strategies and tactics to grow market share and secure our flanks.

Monitor industry analysts, competitors, customers, sales engagements, etc. to identify trends and market opportunities.

Understand decision makers, influencers, and users to inform program development, messaging, and sales/marketing approaches.

Develop and articulate clear and compelling customer pain points, market positioning, and value statements to guide the content strategy with key internal & external communication departments (marketing, training)

Work collaboratively with cross-brand teams to build positioning, targeting, pricing, programs and messaging for relevant segments and audiences.

Develop and oversee the product marketing messaging related to cross-brand/portfolio value propositions, including sales enablement tools, competitive comparisons, etc.

Work with stakeholders to secure client KPIs for products or a combined set of products for use in marketing and sales messaging

Validate hypotheses through customer insights, data analysis, and testing.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of marketing or product marketing experience, including 3 years’ experience leading a team of direct reports (coaching, mentoring, prioritization of projects and tasks) OR an equivalent combination of education and work- related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Proactive and intellectually curious self-starter able to lead and coordinate marketing projects with diverse marketing and business stakeholders, in a fast-paced environment  

High degree of comfort with navigating a matrix organization and operating in ambiguity to take on new challenges

Excellent communication skills – both spoken and written

Polished presentation skills, with ability to facilitate discussions in a customer-facing environment or with senior executives

Strong analytical and synthesis skills, including the ability to turn complex subject matter into easy-to-understand artifacts as the basis for marketing and sales programs

Excellent people skills to interact with peers/colleagues, cross-functional teams, third parties and customers. Must be a strong team player. 

Outstanding follow-through, time management, and project management skills to deliver results

Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and strong PowerPoint skills

Travel – under 20%

Prior experience in the automotive industry or B2B software

Pragmatic Marketing certification

Challenger training

Master’s degree
