Position Summary:

IT Business Partnering for Global Regulatory Sciences (GRS) is accountable for the effective delivery of IT capabilities and services supporting the R&D Regulatory functions. Collaboratively partner with leaders across Regulatory to understand their information technology and digital enablement needs.  This role will have responsibility to contribute to the development of multi-year technology roadmaps, construct business cases to support new investment decisions aligned to business needs, value opportunities and the overall BMS and GRS IT strategy.  IT Business partners will work across the matrix IT organization to drive portfolio execution from ideation to value realization, providing domain expertise.

Business Analysis Experience:

  • Strong capacity to identify business needs and translating those needs to strong user requirements.
  • Proficient in the use of business analysis techniques such as business and functional requirements gathering, process modeling, interviewing, user stories, prototyping, data flows, and root cause analysis.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills with the ability to interact and build trust across different levels of the organization.
  • Development of project plans to bring clarity to business analysis activities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Understand key processes within regulatory and understand the value they provide.
  • Develop strong working knowledge of the digital capabilities used to support regulatory business processes.
  • Build trusting relationships with key stakeholders across GRS, serving as a trusted advisor.
  • Work with GRS to understand business needs, challenges and opportunities and how digital capabilities can be leveraged to deliver value.
  • Identify and articulate use cases, gather requirements and transform them into digital solutions. 
  • Drive the development of actionable multi-year strategic digital strategy and capability roadmaps.
  • Contributes to the prioritization the portfolio appropriately and manage budget for select projects.
  • Drive change - ensures effective planning, execution, and communication of business change management to support digital capability investments, including business process changes to achieve maximum value from investments. 
  • Provide project management leadership where necessary. Empowers build & run teams: Understands IT business partner accountabilities throughout the plan/build/run cycle and builds empowered and trusting partnerships with IT build &run team members at all levels. 
  • Ensure that the Digital Delivery teams make the right trade-offs between speed, quality, and cost and that the value is being captured from the entire lifecycle of the IT investment. 
  • Drive projects and decisions in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Establishes and maintains awareness of external drivers in the regulatory business domain and relevant technology trends.
  • Connects and educates the business stakeholders on the broader IT capabilities and services.

Desired Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience working for a pharmaceutical company, CRO, biotech company or related industries.
  • Experience working in large and/or complex IT programs, preferably within the drug development and clinical operations R&D domain for a pharmaceutical sponsor, CRO or biotech company.
  • Experience in the business processes for regulatory such as submission planning and tracking, registration management, commitment management, and content management.
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing and/or supporting RIM solutions
  • Experience building business cases, investment approval and measuring ROI
  • Knowledge of computer system validation processes
  • Experience of managing SaaS applications, vendor selection and contracting processes
  • Experience working as an IT business partner or a senior business analyst
  • Strong project planning, business analysis, project management, and matrix management skills

Other qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a focus on computer science or Information Technology preferred.
