Job Description

Cox Automotive is looking for a Senior Manager Financial Planning and Analysis that will provide leadership and direction for the Executive Reporting and Expense Management team within the Sales Finance Office as well as Finance support of the Enterprise Sales channel.  This individual will coach and develop team members and oversee their workload and work quality.  They will identify opportunities to improve internal efficiencies and client service, always looking for process improvements.  The Senior Manager will collaborate closely with partners across Finance and Accounting to ensure accuracy and timeliness of data. He or she will be responsible for the management and oversight of Cox Automotive Sales expense and team member management as well as the master version of reported sales for Cox Automotive.  This position reports to the Director of Finance for Sales and Marketing and must be highly detail oriented.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES/KEY RESPONSIBILITES

Lead, coach, and develop a team of analysts.

Create and maintain an environment of personal accountability that encourages ownership of issues and excellence in service.

Partner with the Enterprise Sales leaders to develop financial modeling and analysis that drive insights to support strategic objectives and plans for business partners and executive leadership.

Create and audit Executive decks used for weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting to the Chief Sales Officer and other members of the leadership team.

Provide proactive insights and financial recommendations on high profile business issues.  

Contribute thought leadership and best practices around strategic challenges to promote efficiencies, productivity, and accuracy.

Become a business partner to the Sales leaders of the Shared Service function of Retail Sales, supporting them on a day-to-day basis and ensure their expenses are being properly managed. 

Work with Sr. Financial Analysts to load the forecast and budget for Corporate Enterprise Sales and the Shared Service function of Retail Sales.

Provide weekly forecast updates and reporting to VP of Sales Finance for review at the Executive level.

Partner with  business unit FP&A leads to monitor monthly activity and understand budget variances across all of Sales; roll variances up to a company level and analyze risk and opportunities and the implications they may have on long term financial goals.

Maintain the master version of reported sales for Cox Automotive, ensuring these numbers have the most up to date information and tie to the correct budget; ensure all Executive reporting is in line with most current and up to date view of sales.

Complete special projects and ad hoc requests accurately and with quick turnaround times.

Provide weekly views on expense and team member risks and opportunities for current month, provide monthly view of full year projections.

Review Accounting entries for month end accruals and reversals and monitor monthly results for accuracy and completeness. 

Provide insights on trends and issues impacting Sales spend and budgets.  Identify long term implications and risks to the business.

Other duties as needed or required.

Qualifications:

Requires BS/BA degree in related discipline with advance degree preferred.

10+ years of experience with at least 3 years’ experience in a management/leadership role with experience working within a like analytical financial environment to include financial strategy, project management, process improvement, business performance management and/or corporate strategy.

Build, sustain, and leverage relationships with business partners.

Extensive experience with the MS Office Suite, specifically with Excel in the automation of reporting to include building macros and managing large/imperfect data sets.

Excellent organizational skills and an ability to work on a team.

Ability to exercise independent judgment for interpreting financial data.

Motivated, self-starter with strong interpersonal skills.

Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.

Attention to detail is a must.
