This role focuses on the development of a category that defines the Hybrid services area, targeted towards identifying point solutions to augment the Consulting Services and Contingent Labor categories at BMS. This role will develop, maintain and implement a 3 - 5 year strategic category plan that ensures all projects deliver maximum value, with additional engagement to lead special projects in Professional Services categories. Additionally, this individual is responsible for overseeing the execution of category strategies by multiple cross-functional teams, including sourcing and contracting.
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Develop global category strategies with regional / market variations that define how purchasing will be done for a given spend category
Lead and / or support major category initiatives within a multi-year plan including end-to-end process optimization, make / buy analysis and recommendations within a spend category and / or within a major business area
Streamline user experience by leveraging buying channels and purchasing policies to drive compliance and adherence to category strategy
Define a supplier relationship management program, including segmentation criteria and a preferred supplier list for a given category
Develop relationships and manage key category budget owners and functional stakeholders
Support business growth by providing market insights and subject matter expertise to key Business Partners
Support and participate in key governance discussions regarding engagement of hybrid service providers
Ensure highest standards of excellence across key capabilities and liaise to execute
Identify, build, and maintain mutually beneficial relationships and partnerships with select suppliers through Supplier Development and performance measurement efforts
Champion effective use of tools and technology to promote efficient delivery of procurement initiatives; develop and implement metrics and reporting mechanisms.
Minimum Requirements:
B.S./B.A.
Minimum of 6 -8 years of business experience
Experience in Professional Services categories either directly in procurement or in the business
Managerial experience including indirectly managing teams and/or individuals
Internal senior stakeholder management, data/information management, category management, process redesign and continuous improvement expertise, project management and performance measurement skills
Procurement process knowledge, financial analysis, market analysis, relationship management, technology familiarity and utilization, strategic planning experience
