Responsibilities and Accountabilities Related to the team:

  • Lead the hiring, performance evaluation, management and development planning of assigned Sourcing Excellence employees and flexible contracted resources
  • Manage the allocation of sourcing work across functions by analyzing historical demand and shifts in projected capacity and ensure flexible resources are fully utilized
  • Work with Category leads to ensure development of savings pipeline
  • Ability to manage a large book of work across multiple individuals, teams, geographies 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities Related to our Deliverables:

  • Conduct RFX facilitation process based on Category Strategies
  • Provide insights from internal and market analytics to influence the development of strategic category plans; partner with category leaders and business partners on plan development, including building plans for smaller categories. Build understanding of BMS’s global end-to-end value chain as it relates to the categories in focus
  • When supporting category strategy development, he or she might be involved in research and make recommendations on decisions for “make, buy or lease,” privatize or outsource goods or services
  • Lead the preparation and solicitation of competitive bids, quotations and proposals; evaluate competitive offerings; assess supplier product and pricing information; prepare and issue contracts for legal review and approval (This specific role will require complex contracting globally in a highly regulated area)
  • Collect feedback from stakeholders and ensure stakeholder satisfaction metrics are met

Conduct contract facilitation process for complex contracts

  • Oversee project management for complex contracting events either through hands on execution or management of staff including contracted resources
  • Complete any required pre-transactional steps and prior endorsement with appropriate risk assessment due diligence
  • Ensure appropriate written guidelines are followed and/or SME input is obtained throughout the process (eg, privacy, finance, international and domestic taxation, customs and trade, information security, systems quality, software asset management, and other SMEs)

​Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S./B.A. (Business, Science or Engineering is desirable)
  • Relevant industry certification is preferred, e.g. Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ work experience with at least 2 – 3 years procurement or relevant experience. (Preferred category experience includes: Manufacturing, Supply Chain)
  • Expertise in materials management, direct materials sourcing, management of external contract manufacturing organizations
  • Expertise in the procurement processes, technology and systems (such as Ariba, SAP), contract and supplier analysis and management, financial analysis, market analysis, supplier diversity, strategic planning and integrated supply chain
  • People management and employee development responsibilities, including talent identification and acquisition

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge and experience with Sourcing Execution management applied to large and global organizations such as BMS
  • Translate business requirements to system-based solution and implement to improve business performance
