Senior Continuous Improvement Manager
Location = Remote
This is an exempt level position.

Position Summary:
The Senior Continuous Improvement Manager will provide leadership in the Enterprise Process Office (EPO) for the Operational Excellence team which mostly supports ADM’s growing Global Business Services (GBS) operations and will lead the effort to transition, improve and ensure standardized, consistent, compliant, effective and efficient processes. This individual will play a key role in the design and the implementation of transitions for teams to ADM’s GBS processes by applying Lean and Best Practices to the re-engineered processes. Reporting to the EPO EPO. The position will require significant Lean expertise concerning Shared Services operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Managing the transition to of workflows to GBS processes. Overseeing the critical evaluation of information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs. 
  • Research and advise GBS colleagues concerning the best practice, treatment and optimal process flow of complex transactions.  
  • Work closely with cross functional teams to identify and implement opportunities for efficiencies.  
  • Establish processes and procedures to deliver required service levels, and implement process optimization and remediation
  • Responsible for documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and internal controls for all North America, GBS center processes. 
  • Assist the EPO Director in creating a culture of continuous improvement and performance excellence. 
  • Liaise and coordinate with Global Business Services centers in North America, South America, EMEA and APAC continue to globalize processes and leverage best practices in the GBS space.
  • Extensive and effective communication within the GBS organization and across functions including: financial, human resource, IT, and operational colleagues
  • Partner with global counterparts to implement best practices across all GBS 
  • Lead the improvement of processes and play a key role in ERP design and implementation for GBS processes
  • Oversee the re-engineering of existing tasks through implementing automation, process changes, and/or revised workflows to insure upstream and downstream process efficiency
  • Investigate complex requirements and will head researching laws and regulations regarding specific GBS processes to eliminate/reduce errors
  • Involve a significant amount of independent thinking, judgment and decision making along with strong project management skills and excellent management and mentoring of their team
  • Support and help in the development and implements of GBS’s Service Management Framework (SMF). This includes GBS operating principles such as organization strategy, operating model, transition and transformation methodologies, CI, process performance metrics and others.

Job Requirements:

  • Master degree in Finance, HR, IT or Business Administration preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in shared services leadership preferably in multi-functional SSC and/or GBS; including transitioning teams into these models.
  • Minimum 5 years of Lean experience 
  • Advanced English (Reading, Writing, And Speaking). Other multilingual capability is a plus
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work with cross-functional management (Commercial, Operations, Support, etc.)
  • Ability to implement best practices in shared services processes; commitment to driving competitive advantage while reducing costs, improving quality, and managing risks.
  • Commitment to delivering quality results and overcoming obstacles in a time-sensitive environment
  • Broad subject matter proficiency in multi-functional processes and understanding of their impacts on downstream processes
  • Critically evaluate, research, and audit processes to insure accuracy and process excellence. 
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Ability to prioritize multiple work streams while remaining calm and effective under pressure
  • Drive and challenge business units and other departments on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans with specific focus on end to end execution and impact on downstream processes/systems
  • Provide subject matter expertise on projects for small and large scale system implementations, conversions and development
  • Capable to create and contribute to instructions or manuals to guide end users
  • Prepare detailed workflow charts and diagrams that describe input, output, and logical operation of various processes and programs
  • Able to travel (international travels of up to 15% of working time)
