Cox Communications, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, Consumer Product Marketing Strategy (Broadband). The successful candidate will be a key driver and champion of our consumer value proposition and customer experience for assigned Products and Services. They will be a SME on our consumer product segmentation, consumer insights, positioning, and value proposition. The Senior Manager, Consumer Product Marketing (Broadband) is the key conduit for product knowledge transfer to marketing and sales teams, and primary boundary partner with Product Management, Bus. Ops. and Strategy.
The successful individual will be a passionate, consumer-centric leader, with strong people leadership capabilities, the ability to simplify complex ideas into compelling stories, and demonstrated persuasion/negotiation skills, with an ability to guide high-performance teams both directly and indirectly. Must be a self-starter, capable of working independently. Powerful communication skills (written & oral) are essential.
The Senior Manager, Consumer Product Marketing Innovation reports to the Director of Consumer Product Marketing Strategy (Growth Products).
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Define product learning agendas for consumer insights and activate the learnings within the business.
Define the what, why and target audience for marketing programs and develop KPIs and key message points.
Influences budget (LRP) planning with insights on upcoming strategic initiatives that may bend a trend.
Cultivates positive relationships and transparent communication with key boundary partners including Bus ops, product management, CPM Ops, CPM GTM strategy, Sales strategy, and consumer insights.
Performs ongoing analysis of product results, monitoring and reporting of actual performance to budget and forecasts; and analyzes market trends on the product/service lines.
Leverages segmentation and propensity models to identify growth and retention opportunities.
Evangelize opportunities across marketing, sales and the broader Cox organization through insightful personas that help catalyze organizational alignment and support
Identify, define, and validate consumer value propositions, working with marketing, sales, product and bus. ops; set consumer requirements, partner with bus ops to build revenue models and business cases
Ensure all initiatives are consumer-centric, compelling, competitive and clearly expressed to the market by working with colleagues across marketing communications, PR, sales & brand
Serves as inspirational thought leader to advocate on behalf of consumers in decision making throughout the business.
Ensures identified customer needs continue to be addressed as propositions are being built by working cross functionally with stakeholders throughout the organization in Product Development, Sales, Customer Experience, Operations, Legal, Technology, etc.
Works closely with consumer product marketing operations and go to market teams to mobilize the sales and marketing organization to achieve flawless execution.
Leads direct and indirect teams as applicable to obtain strategic outputs and deliveries as defined by the company
Qualifications:
Minimum
7 or more years of experience required in related field (Marketing, Sales, Product/Project Management, Customer Experience);
5 or more years of experience if candidate possesses a related advanced degree
3 or more years of analytical experience – segmentation, opportunity sizing, and/or forecasting.
3 or more years of experience writing strategy briefs, and/or developing presentations that synthesize complex ideas into stories that inspire action.
Experience developing or managing business building experiences
Capability to leverage consumer insights into well-architected value propositions which meet important need gaps in the market.
Excellent leadership, verbal, written, interpersonal, ppt presentation, project management, organization, time management, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization
Preferred
BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired
MBA or equivalent preferred
Experience in brand management or advertising
Digital marketing credentials, i.e. experience working in industries which are digitally mature,
2 or more years of experience in a management role
3 or more years of experience with hands-on analytics with spreadsheets and expert-level PowerPoint presentation development.
