Role
The Senior Manager Market and Competitive Insights will act as a key driver of competitive intelligence and industry research within the Workplace Investing Business Unit. As part of the WI Competitive Intelligence and Market Insights Center of Excellence, this individual will contribute external industry perspective and insights which will advise Workplace Investing’s strategic priorities and help Fidelity compete in the marketplace. This individual will bring his or her own ideas to improve upon and further enhance our competitive intelligence capabilities, identifying new, valuable analysis, and seeking to further engage our stakeholders with relevant, timely and actionable information!
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
5+ years industry research, benefits consulting, management consulting, sales and relationship management, or corporate strategy experience
Deep interest and curiosity in the Workplace Benefit industry and competitive dynamics
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, including an ability to independently structure problems, manage large data sets, execute analysis, and communicate findings
Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
A spirit of continuous improvement to evolve existing processes and deliverables
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The Team
The WI Competitive & Market Insights COE is responsible for driving informed decisions through a better understanding of the Workplace benefit landscape. The team delivers actionable and timely insights on organizations, participants, advisors and competitors to support strategic decisions, improve WI sales and retention, benchmark our offering and evaluate new opportunities and risks. Sitting within a broader Customer/Market Research and Insights COE, we interact frequently with leaders across the business, including members of the WI Executive team.
The Value You Deliver
The Senior Manager Market and Competitive Insights will report to the CoE Team Leader, Competitive Intelligence and Market Insights; specific responsibilities to include:
Competitive Research & Intelligence
Deliver competitive insights: track and analyze key Workplace Investing competitors, analyze key trends and benchmark our offering and brand
Complete time-sensitive analysis of key events (e.g., mergers and acquisitions, announcements, financial reporting events)
Serve as subject matter expert for Workplace Benefit focus areas (e.g. Financial Wellness, Student Debt, Stock Plan Services, Benefits Consulting)
Contribute to the development of industry insights for an audience of 10,000+ internal associates
Contribute to Fidelity’s broader CI ecosystem by partnering with peers in other divisions to share knowledge and insights
Strategic Project Work
Lead or contribute to project work to identify and assess strategic / competitive opportunities and risks for Workplace Investing
Lead or contribute to project work / busines case development to support Sales growth efforts
Assists in strategy formation to evaluate market disruptors due to the success of financial technology start-ups.
Measurement, Review, and Communication
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and vendors
Own KPIs related to WI’s market share, growth, and competitive positioning
Contribute to executive-level presentations on the WI competitive landscape, key trends and emerging opportunities/risks.
Team
Contribute to positive team atmosphere
Support agile / scrum practices within the team
