The Senior Manager, Business and Brand Communications leads an integrated approach to the development and implementation of internal and external communications plans that advance awareness of the company’s business strategy and impact. This role works as part of team responsible for leading public relations efforts for North America Operating Unit (NAOU) brands in the United States, including advancing the brands’ total beverage stories with business press and stakeholders and driving consumer preference through brand PR activities.
What You’ll Do for Us
Collaborates with North America OU Marketing and Category Leads to develop, implement, and manage the communications strategy that drive consumer demand by leveraging the power of the press, media, social and celebrity and key influencers communities that are relevant to increasing brand awareness and purchase intent with our consumers.
Drive proactive, brand-focused media communications to increase customer, bottler, stakeholder and influencer support for major brand and business initiatives, including product and marketing launches, strategy changes, product and category expansion, issues management, purpose-driven marketing and PR programs, and marketing sponsorships.
Create breakthrough stories and moments that connect our brands to culture, driving cultural relevancy and building brand interest to a new generation of consumers
Collaborates with the PACS Zone Operations, Government Affairs and Community & Stakeholder Relations teams to ensure strong coordination between brand and business communication efforts and stakeholder programs in key local markets.
Partners with the Integrated Marketing Communication team that oversees social and paid media, sports marketing, strategic assets and influencer to ensure consideration and consistency of brand and business communication efforts amongst brand and business priorities.
Develops mutually beneficial relationships with key media, third parties, and industry and brand partners.
Works as part of a team to develop company spokespeople, serves as a spokesperson and trains and supports executives for media interactions.
Ensures external communications efforts are tightly wired with customer, zone and franchise teams to ensure coordinated and effective communications with bottler and customer audiences.
Manages brand and business thought-leadership media opportunities for senior brand and marketing and leaders and provides subject matter expertise, content and coaching to senior management to help them serve as effective spokespeople externally.
Works with others on the Marketing and PACS teams to utilizes innovative methods of communications to reach audiences via digital platforms.
Manages outside agency resources.
Coordinates with Global Communications team to ensure consistency of messaging.
Measures reach and impact of external communications initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
Highly creative thought leader with proven success driving effective consumer communications strategies that engage, inform, and motivate
10+ years consumer brand development/communications/marketing experience, in-house and/or agency experience
Strong track record of establishing innovative communication and engagement programs that drive brand awareness, acquisition, and loyalty
Proven experience working effectively with global and cross-functional partners, capable of navigating a dynamic and collaborative environment, and prioritizing the most urgent and important business
Skilled in synthesizing, simplifying, and communicating complex trends in the marketplace and consumer media behavior into clear consumer journey insights and strategic recommendations
Excellent written, public speaking, and presentation skills with demonstrated experience with executive audiences
High degree of personal and professional savvy and experience to inspire confidence among all audiences and at all levels of the organization
Education
Bachelor of Arts or Sciences in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related degree or equivalent experience
