Bloomberg’s Reporting Apps team develops innovative solutions to empower our customers to make timely and insightful financial decisions. We do this by giving our clients access to Bloomberg's Enterprise datasets in the leading Productivity and Business Intelligence applications on the market. Our products for Microsoft Office, Microsoft Power BI and Tableau give Bloomberg clients the ability to create cutting edge visualizations and reports. 

Where do you come in?

 We are a versatile team of engineers using a broad selection of modern open source tools such as Node.js, GraphQL, and React. This technology stack serves as the foundation for our team’s product portfolio which encompasses microservices, custom data connectors, and web applications. 
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated engineer to join our team, to help expand our reporting applications and services. Your main focus will be our new reporting platform, which will bring our clients data to life, through rich visualizations and multiple report formats. You’ll utilize your expertise to design and develop a well architected system, using the latest cloud based technologies. This work will require you to collaborate with multiple partners in Product, Sales, UX/VX, CTO and other engineering teams.  
 

We’ll trust you to:

•  Analyze business requirements, collaborate with internal development groups, and design & build innovative infrastructure that bring the power of Bloomberg to our global client-base
•  Work in an Agile environment, take ownership of projects, collaborate with colleagues, and develop high quality scalable solutions

 

You’ll need to have:

•  3+ years of experience developing successful service oriented solutions
•  Experience with Node.JS, Typescript, and React
•  Solid knowledge of algorithms and data structures
•  Strong knowledge of SDLC principles, modern design patterns, and TDD
•  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•  BA, BS, MS, PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or related technology field

 

We’d love to see:

•  Experience with GraphQL
•  Experience with Relational and NoSQL databases
•  Familiarity with Cloud Services (Azure/AWS)
