Key job responsibilities
As a Principal Product Management Specialist, you will have an exciting opportunity to lead customer engagements and shape and deliver a new diagnostic product management operating model approach with the Worldwide Financial Services Catalyst team. Your primary responsibility will be to identify, develop, and lead engagements with Enterprise customers – engaging line of business and C-suite leaders, qualifying opportunities, leading product management workshops, and driving resultant builds and diagnostic outcomes that result in customer iterative improvement programs and scaled solutions. In addition, you will build and participate in mechanisms for tracking engagement impact for customers and for AWS, and use your experience to help improve our engagement model. You will have a proven track record of leading and driving multiple projects to meet customer business objectives, excellent project management skills, effective communication within and across teams, influences and facilitates the empowerment of self-organizing product teams, a customer-obsessed and collaborative approach, strong data and metrics bias, a good understanding of cloud solutions, and a passion for helping customers transform their product management models to best leverage cloud technologies.

A day in the life
You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial enterprise technology sales environment, and working with cross functional teams as many parts of the program will have inter-dependencies with other teams within AWS. Typically, cross-functional collaboration includes sales leadership, market segment and regional business development teams, solutions architecture, marketing, partners, professional services, and field enablement. The right candidate will have experience leading and delivering new cloud enabled product management operating model programs for enterprise financial services industry customers. This includes demonstrated experience in Product Management, Agile practices, DevSecOps, and Release Management.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Basic qualifications • Several years Progressive experience in customer-facing product management leadership or equivalent consultative-selling role • Several years business development experience in enterprise technology • Certifications, or equivalent experience, associated with Product Management, Agile, DevOps, and Release Management • Experience with Agile metrics for driving data driven decision making and demonstrating impact of coaching and transformation efforts • Demonstrated ability to influence change at the leadership level and team level • Experience with public and hybrid cloud platforms, and the technologies customers are using to drive and deliver digital innovation • Experience with training, enablement and accreditation • Experience with operations of large regulated enterprises and global businesses • Ability to multitask and manage portfolio of projects - work prioritization, planning, collaboration, and management • Operational excellence mind-set and experience. Data driven. Excellent problem-solving skills. Adept at simplifying complexity and developing scalable propositions • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results. Ability to effectively lead and work with a variety of organizations, management levels, cultures, and personalities • Experience communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications • Familiarity with Amazonian innovation principles and mechanisms, notably customer obsession and working backwards • Substantial progressive relevant work experience in the enterprise and industry markets • Breadth and depth in Financial Services industry markets and industry ecosystems • Design thinking expertise • One or more Expert-level Agile certification(s) Preferred - SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), ICAgile Certified Professional (ICP) etc. - Scaled Agile Framework experience preferred (can be met with basic certifications and demonstrated professional experience) • Strong business and financial acumen and negotiations skills • Deep knowledge of product management operating models, and DevSecOps • Published thought leadership in digital transformation and product management operating models • Good working knowledge of AWS Services – especially higher-level services that are the focus of customer innovation (AI/ML, IoT, etc.)
