We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Fire Engineer in our Blackburn and North Tyneside offices. The successful candidates will join long established multi-disciplinary teams.

The workload will be varied and will cover a multitude of sectors, with particular focus on the health sector.

What you will be doing:

• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary Capita team

• Carry out site surveys, and report on fire related defects

• Review and report on fire strategies

• Carry out design and specification work for fire remediation work and assist with preparing tender information

• Liaise with clients, contractors & other consultants (internal and external)

What we’re looking for:

• Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers

• Strong working knowledge of Building Regulations and HTM’s specifically HTM 0502

• Good awareness of Fire Safety within a Healthcare environment

• Development of fire risk management strategies

• Experience of working within Healthcare or a similar complex organisation

• Ability to establish a good working relationship with clients and colleagues including enforcing authorities

• Represent Capita in meetings with the client and other external stakeholders

• Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision

• Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines

• Good written  verbal communication skills and experience of report writing for different levels within an organisation.

• Ability to communicate technical issues to a non-technical audience 

• Commitment to CPD within the role

• Full UK Driving Licence

• Ability to demonstrate flexible approach to work and willingness to travel/stay away from home for short periods as may be required.
