This position presents an exciting opportunity to work directly with the FX Marketing team. The position reports under the Controller’s Group of the Disney Media Entertainment Distribution (“DMED”). The Controller’s Group oversees the accounting, consolidation, and reporting functions for the Broadcast and Cable Networks.

Responsibilities:

Accounting and Reporting for FX Marketing. The position will be primarily responsible for the following key functions:

Recurring Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate quarterly SEC financial reporting for all FX Marketing functional line items
  • Work closely with FX Marketing and Finance teams including monthly meetings to compare budget and actuals
  • Day-to-day general ledger activities, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with The Walt Disney Company (“TWDC”)accounting policies and procedures
  • Provide variance explanations vs forecast and prior year for FX Marketing P&L line items
  • Subject matter expert on project settlement (wbs) reporting for FX Marketing projects
  • Facilitate onboarding of new vendors to DSMP and M360 & maintenance of existing vendors
  • Build relationships with Marketing project managers and provide assistance in the form of payments support periodic reporting, and commitment management

System and Process Improvement:

  • Help with implementation of the M360 marketing spend system by partnering with Finance, Marketing, and Project Management teams
  • Become SuperUser for M360 including troubleshooting, reconciliation of actuals, loading budgets/forecasts, and training
  • Enter and manage commitments, budgets, and forecasts within M360
  • Create and manage WBS elements for all marketing campaigns
  • Create meaningful change by identifying and implementing new efficiencies
  • Special Projects: Participate in projects that require DMED level reporting including Media Planning support, Management Audit Findings work, and ad hoc one-time reporting

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of public accounting, month-end close, general ledger accounting, and/or reporting experience
  • SAP system experience preferred
  • Project accounting experience a plus
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills combined with solid business and financial acumen
  • Good relationship building skills and a highly professional “client service orientation”
  • A good communicator in both oral and written settings
  • Flexible, “special-projects” orientation coupled with solid multi-tasking abilities
  • High energy level; strong work ethic
  • Growth-oriented, collaborative, and dedicated team player
  • Proficient in Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Work experience within the marketing & entertainment industry would be considered a plus

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

Preferred Education

  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred
