Job Summary:

This is a hands-on position in a dynamic television production unit. As a key member of Media Controllership, you will perform essential accounting duties in an energetic, team environment supporting Walt Disney Television. The purpose of this job is to assist the team in providing financial analysis for Twentieth Television Group under Walt Disney Television. This role will be responsible for journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and assisting in closing the books on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. This position will play an important role to help the team to prioritize tasks, keep track of the project processes, reconcile and explain variances daily, along with various ad hoc analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with testing of system integration of general ledgers, front of house systems, and project management
  • Assist in building, analyzing, and documenting financial reporting process improvements and enhancements
  • Prepare reconciliations for system integration related projects to determine scope and feasibility
  • Prepare quarterly journal entries – Deferred Revenue adjustments, tax credit receivables, Lego Block reclasses and adjusting entries, overhead allocations, Inventory adjustments
  • Prepare the monthly divisional and consolidated P&L financial statements
  • Compile financial information for external auditors, SOX audits and tax packages
  • Handle various ad hoc projects and requests as needed

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years relevant accounting experience, preferred
  • Strong Excel skills with ability to extract data, use pivot tables and leverage macros
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Work independently to solve complex problems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of SAP general ledger and projects functionality desired
  • Knowledge of Hyperion
  • Strong interest in TV business
  • CPA, preferred

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Accounting, Finance or related field
