Senior Finance Manager – Payments

THE ROLE

We are looking for an inspiring and talented Senior Finance Manager to support our payments business and to help define and deliver the strategy moving forward.  The Senior Finance Manager Payments will manage all financial compliance and risk management processes in a fast-changing environment. They will also act as the bridge between our outsourced payment partners, internal teams, and the regulated bodies to drive strategic initiatives and projects.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead on strategic initiatives, and financial processes.  This role would suit someone who has experience working in payments, financial services, regulated entities or a high growth tech finance team.

You will…  

• Own the strategic agenda on compliance matters for Finance, interfacing to all stakeholders in the ASOS Group Central Finance, Taxation, Treasury, and Technology teams
• Support and challenge the Payments team to create and execute a robust vision, strategy and business plan
• Be responsible for the system of internal controls over financial and non-financial reporting for ASOS Payments
• Be responsible for all compliance, governance, and risk management within Finance.  The execution of operational compliance processes will be outsourced to the ASOS Group
• Ensure prioritisation and delivery of all compliance-related improvements and the main contact for all Finance compliance enablement and communication.
• Developing, executing, and maintaining the company’s inter-company transfer pricing policies and reporting.
• Driving and delivering significant projects that result from expansions into new markets or products or to ensure compliance with legislative changes.
• Assisting with FCA and external 3rd party audits.
• Collecting and analysing relevant data & information and providing appropriate recommendations to support the business planning.
• Understanding and influencing the underlying drivers of performance to help drive the top and bottom line
• Scenario modelling and business casing for multiple initiatives and layering this into financial planning…providing pro-active, insightful, high quality analysis to support decision making (e.g. pricing)
• Partnering with the various teams to formulate and appraise appropriate strategies for their respective areas and support delivery of the overall business strategy and long-range plans.
• Driving KPI diligence and performance across the agreed customer metrics, enhancing our reporting to drive improved understanding throughout the business of our metrics.

• Experience in finance compliance management and internal control systems over financial and non-financial reporting.
• Ideally experienced in the payment service provider industry, with some understanding of the regulatory implications
• Convincing communication skills to enable active collaboration within ASOS payments and the wider ASOS group. teams and across diverse professional backgrounds
• Work closely with product, technology, and operations to ensure the highest quality operational processes in payment settlement & transaction handling/reporting.
• Strong application of accounting and economic concepts and proven track record of delivery of significant projects
• Being comfortable with IT systems in order to extract, analyse, and review data and make appropriate recommendations
• Project management skills, plan and prioritise work, meet deadlines, monitor, and own budgets
• Quick learner with a positive ''can do'' attitude and solid professionalism
• Work effectively in a diverse team environment and partner well with outsourced partners at all levels within an organization
• Able to work in a dynamic, fast paced, informal, often ambiguous and rapidly changing business environment
