Job Description
Position Summary:
- Executes environmental engineering major deliverables according to a set engineering design criteria utilizing approved engineering procedures and practices.
- Prepares, coordinates, and reviews designs, studies, reports and proposals.
- Takes the initiative to coordinate the detailed design development of a system with other engineering disciplines while managing workload and meeting schedule due dates. 
- Devises new approaches to technical problems. Knowledgeable of and performs standard discipline engineering activities on projects with minimal technical oversight. Coordinates technical issues with other departments on projects including constructability requirements and reviews.
- Provides technical direction for specific tasks and assigns work to subordinate engineers or designers.
- Broad knowledge of precedents in the industry.
- Broad working knowledge of precedents in the specialty area, the principles, and practices of related technical areas and of coordinating work with other technical disciplines.
 
Responsibilities: 
- Managing of environmental engineering scope such as industrial wastewater and water treatment or drainage. The design will include development of design basis, process flow diagrams, package specifications, and development of equipment datasheets
- Attendance of key meetings such as P&IDs review, HAZOP, and 3D model review and providing environmental input
- Development of terms of reference for environmental led reviews such as ENVIDs and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs)
- Environmental air modelling – experience with industry standard software such as AERMOD an advantage
- Compiling technical lists and inventories such as emissions and effluents summaries
- Interfacing with government Environmental Regulatory Authorities
- Ensuring that projects are incompliance with state, federal, and country environmental regulations
- Ensuring that projects are incompliance with International Finance Corporation (IFC) requirements where required
 
Skills and Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
Level One:
- A recognized degree in chemical or mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university with minimum of 8 years relevant EPC environmental design experience
Level Two:
- A recognized degree in chemical or mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university with minimum of 12 years relevant EPC environmental design experience
- Excellent knowledge of technical theory, engineering principles, good engineering practices and how to apply them for design execution
- Familiarity with major regulations and industry codes and standards affecting standard design, quality, or processes
- Environmental Legislation – extensive knowledge of international and US specific legislation
- Professional Engineer license (PE), or willingness to complete
- Experience in all areas listed in the summary and responsibilities section
Industry Experience: 
- Relevant industrial experience in multiple types of facilities such as:
- Desalination plants
- Industrial wastewater treatment units
- Petrochemicals
- Energy Transition (hydrogen production, CCS, methanol synthesis etc)
- Refining
- Gas Processing
