Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Embedded Software Engineering, the Senior Software Engineer will serve as a key member of the Software team working with stakeholders to build scalable and maintainable embedded software (firmware), as well as lead and implement features on software roadmap and work with business on detailed requirements.

What You’ll Do for Us:

  • Work on software releases end to end including supporting multiple releases in the field

  • Work in Agile development life cycle models

  • Deliver products with automated unit tests built into the development life cycle

  • Influence and negotiate with senior leadership with respect to:

    • Timelines and solutions to technical problems

    • Suitability of tools and best practices for software architecture and development

    • New technical concepts and their associated costs and capital investments

    • Managing any risks or dependencies to the project or program

    • Building solutions and communicating effectively to find consensus on technical viewpoints

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer or Electrical Engineering/Science or equivalent experience is required; Master’s degree is preferred

  • 3+ yrs of Knowledge of CANopen, Serial RS232, I2C and SPI protocols

  • 10+ yrs of total Software Architect, Design and Development experience

  • 10+ yrs of C/C++ development in embedded space preferably on resource constrained devices (TI/NXP chipsets)

  • Experience with organizing automated unit testing and scripting

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of Embedded solutions for motor controls and algorithms to manage and control pumps

  • Has built embedded applications both with and without an RTOS

  • Well versed with embedded programming paradigms: state-machines, event driven, etc.

  • Knows two or more programming languages, C++ and/or Java, Embedded C++ preferred

  • Ability to investigate legacy software and provide precision fixes

  • Familiar with embedded tools such as logic analyzers, scopes, hardware debuggers, protocol analyzers, etc.
