Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain Creative Guidelines for Minecraft Publishing, a complete guide to our publishing program for partners
• Collaborate with Publishing Category Manager on Publishing Strategy & roadmap and new book proposals and liaise directly with publishing partners to support implementation of publishing plan.
• Onboard and Maintain Publishing partner relationships, review and revise concepts and drafts by publishing partners according to brand and game strategies.
• Review and approve all book content from concepts to final layout and marketing materials.
• Collaborate with Mojang game team to support games through publishing program content
• Support Consumer Products team with editorial, including writing style guide introductions, verbiage, and partner communications
• Provide input into new storylines in new original content formats, aligning with the Mojang creative and games team to insure authenticity and community resonance

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years experience in book publishing and editing
• Storyteller, with experience writing stories with an already established IP
• Strong business, strategy and storytelling acumen
• Passion for and strong knowledge of Minecraft

Preferred Qualifications

• A passion for storytelling with experience supporting partners with positive motivation, humility, fun, and empathy
• Bachelor/Masters in English, Communications, Writing or related field or comparable job experience
• Track record of effectively collaborating across groups and time zones to drive clarity and business outcomes
