In the role as Senior Director, Cross-Portfolio Strategic Integration within Early Development Program Leadership, the ideal candidate:

• Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results
• Able to identify multiple solutions and recommend a course of action to management and/or senior staff
• Makes decisions that impact the department’s/discipline’s ability to deliver on its objectives and meet its stakeholders’ requirements
• Creates and sustains a culture of responsible innovation with integrity for group/department
• Works across disciplines/functions to test and advance new processes and methodologies
• Creates alliances across scientific disciplines and leads the decision-making process for completion of team goals

Job-specific roles include:

• Drive strategy and operating model projects ensuring a fit-for-purpose model and operational excellence
• Ensuring functional alignment with TA strategy and objectives, and ensuring that the organization is aware of and focused on the highest priority work
• Drive cross-therapeutic strategic executional projects (mapping, prioritization exercises, etc.)
• Proactively identifying and mitigating risks to asset performance and business value delivery
• Identifying opportunities to accelerate decision making and enhance business impact of investments
• Facilitating the assessment and uptake of novel scientific capabilities and technology platforms
• Facilitating the improvement in outcomes & efficiency of core R&ED activities and business processes
• Fostering cross-functional synergies across the enterprise and with strategic external partners

• Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, or relevant discipline; advanced degree preferred
• 7-10+ years’ experience with a strong scientific background and familiarity with drug discovery and early development processes
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, including discovery and early development governance and other key functions
• Experience with project and/or portfolio management
