​The Senior Director, Marking and Innovation will report directly to the Vice President of Merlin Partnership.
Located within the Products & Marketing Development area, Merlin Partnership Team drives the strategic partnership with Merlin Entertainment Group with the focus of leveraging synergies between the two organizations.​
Merlin Entertainments Group is the second largest theme park operator in the world; number 1 in Europe, with 100+ attractions worldwide reaching more than 60 million guests annually. The group owns and operates 9 LEGOLAND Parks, 25 indoor LEGOLAND Discovery Centers, 7 LEGOLAND Hotels and 3 LEGOLAND Water Parks with a high ambition to increase the global footprint year on year.​
In this position, you will lead the marketing team by providing effective direction and support to ensure the elevation of LEGO branded experience across the LEGOLAND estate through collaboration with Merlin Entertainments on long-term innovation agenda, brand stewardship, and development & execution of global marketing campaigns!​
- Driving motivation, satisfaction, and development of the team with particular focus on the marketing function. Bringing functions cohesively together; ensuring a test, learn, refine approach is built into the team. Building the teams' sectoral (and LEGOLAND / Merlin business) knowledge to better support and understand our partner as well as the world it operates within.​
- Creating and nurturing the innovation pipeline agenda to see that long term investments in park infrastructure are aligned to both business strategies. Building bridges between broader Merlin and LEGO internal departments.​
- Collaborating with local/regional/global retail and marketing teams to activate the LEGO brand and meet Merlin commercial and experiential targets through development and execution of impactful marketing campaigns (including development of global promotional partnership strategy.)​
- Elevating brand stewardship across the LEGOLAND estate. Ensuring 1.) ongoing LEGOLAND estate assessments,2.) brand approvals for all LEGO content, 3.) LEGO brand training is carried out across entire LEGOLAND employee base (GM to ticket taker), and 4.) own, drive usage of, and alignment with, the latest iteration of the LEGOLAND Brand Play Book; alongside the brand requirements articulated in the licensed agreement.
- Significant working experience in a marketing related field at a global scale, experience with strategic partners a plus.​
- Experience working within well know organizations; safeguarding and building a strong global brand platform.​
- Ability to work across complex partner network and communicate effectively across different cultures, roles and levels of seniority.​
- People management skills that inspire and develop a team of skilled marketers. An energizing style that unlocks creativity, ignites innovation, and creates followership.​
- Leadership approach that intentionally supports diversity, inclusion, and representation efforts both from a brand and team perspective.​
- An innovative brand mind-set​
- Willing to travel 1-2X per month (role requires engagement with a global business)​
- Understanding or interest in the theme parks/leisure industry​
- Previous experience in child/family related category a plus.​
- Previous experience working in support of a premium brand a plus.​
