As the IT Business Partner for Digital Strategic Programs, you will be responsible for building strong business relationships with senior leaders and drive key strategic digital solutions across BMS Research & Early Development. You will partner closely with leaders across all R&ED functions and other IT Business Partners to understand current needs and future transformational technology directions. You will help establish the digital strategy for R&ED through ownership of the R&ED IT Strategic Roadmapping process, and co-leadership on strategic digital programs that include:

Lab of the Future and Instrument Digital Twin – our next generation digital solutions for lab-based R&ED scientists
BMS Enabled FAIR (BE-FAIR) – our drive to invest in and improve Research data so that it becomes machine-ready and a true strategic asset
R&ED Externalization Strategy and Transformation – in support of R&ED’s drive to externalize Research activities and form strategic partnerships such as the BBRC
Responsibilities:

Build relationships with key R&ED and IT leaders for each function across R&ED and IT
Own the process to define a cross-R&ED digital strategy and roadmap, working with and through other IT Business Partners, and with an emphasis on key cross-functional areas such as laboratory operations and workflow, data management, externalization, and general digital capabilities that will maximize Research productivity.
Build business cases for digital capabilities supporting cross-functional R&ED needs that meet near-term and long-term business goals. Articulate business value, ROI, and manage the definition detailed requirements for those capabilities.
Manage the R&ED interactions with the Enterprise Digital Strategy group.
Collaborate with technical resources in the IT organization to ensure successful implementation. Own the ultimate delivery of value to the scientific user base for the Strategic Programs portfolio.
Collaborate with support resources in the IT organization to provide responsive, sustainable support for systems and capabilities.
Requirements:

An advanced degree - MS or PhD, in a Life Science, Engineering, Computer Sciences, and/or Information Management or related field is desirable.
At least 15 years of experience in the Healthcare and Life Sciences industry is required.
Broad knowledge of Research and Early Development functions, laboratory operations, interactions with CRO’s and Research collaboration partners, and digital strategy development.
Extensive experience with:
IT processes and operations,
Business process improvement,
Design thinking,
Digital innovation process management,
Managing complex change,
Managing complex business communications (with strong oral and written communication skills),and,
Managing the capture and analysis business requirements in the life sciences domain is required.
Must have demonstrated experience interacting with Research leaders and scientists directly and building strong business relationships across matrixed organizations.
Experience in Agile project methodologies is highly desirable.
